Aldie Mansion — Attraction in Doylestown Township

This is a mixed review of Aldie Mansion. The executive summary is, the day ended up being perfect but getting to the day was not entirely easy or smooth. When you choose Aldie Mansion you’re actually choosing the catering company JAM (Jeffrey A Miller). JAM caters the event and helps with some of the logistics of the venue and they’re an exclusive partner to the venue. Throughout the process, you partner with a sales person at JAM who takes you through the selection of the day, the menu, table settings etc. While the venue is absolutely gorgeous and the food quite good, we had a really negative experience with our particular salesperson who made getting to our wedding day frustrating and cumbersome. This person had low attention to detail and would regularly mix us up with different couples - from sending us the menu a week prior for a wedding the same date the following year, to not knowing who the bride was when the salesperson was standing next to her in the bridal suite. That lack of attention to detail forced us to be constantly concerned that the day was going to be a nightmare and required us to go above and beyond to ensure the day would be flawless. We also had to fight to get a tent to facilitate a safe outdoor wedding during COVID, and it felt like they wanted us to reschedule even though we were trying to be compliant with every state guideline. This was discouraging because we felt like we were trying hard to make it work, and they were trying hard to get us to reschedule to a more expensive date in the future. We wish they’d been coming to us with proactive solutions to be safe instead of the other way around.

We were so unconfident in the week leading up to the wedding that we hired a day of coordinator to handle some redundant tasks as the salesperson because we weren’t sure it was going to get done. In hindsight this was necessary because the salesperson would not have been as attentive to detail as the day of coordinator even though they promote the service of the salesperson as handling some of those ‘day of’ responsibilities.

It’s a shame because we ended up having the perfect wedding day, the venue was great, it looks beautiful in pictures and is designed to have a good flow for a party. Also the food was quite excellent. But getting to the day was so stressful that we are not sure we’d go with JAM again. Our one recommendation would be to invest in training for the sales team to be more customer centric and attentive to detail so it doesn’t detract from the wedding day experience they provide which...

I could go on and on about how fabulous the entire crew at Aldie Mansion was! From the first tour we had with Kim to our planning experience with Nicole to our actual wedding weekend/day with Desiree, every step of the way was done to perfection. Kim Bates was extremely helpful at the beginning, answering my many questions and preparing us for our food tasting and overall event planning. Nicole Potts was the best event designer we could have asked for. She made our day so special, and truly took care of us at each and every turn. Nicole’s attention to detail is unmatched - I truly never felt stressed, because I knew Nicole always had my back. We needed a few accommodations for some of our guests and she was more than happy to help out to ensure all our guests had the best time. Nicole and the team also made sure that our Italian Cookie Table was displayed and executed perfectly – not a small ask, and it was down exactly as we imagined!

At our rehearsal and wedding day, Desiree made sure everything was executed to perfection. She continuously checked in on us to bring us food or drinks and make sure we had everything we needed/wanted. Because we didn’t do a first look, we weren’t able to catch our cocktail hour, but Desiree made sure all our hors d'oeuvres were in the bridal suite waiting for us, and made sure to give us time just us between the ceremony + reception. It was so thoughtful, and we truly appreciated that time together (and the food). Speaking of the food, JAM catering hit it out of the park! Our wedding was June 2022 and Aldie and JAM catering made it the best day ever! The venue is breathtaking, we got so many compliments on how unique and beautiful it was, not to mention that we have the entire building. The food was delicious, and all of our guest's dietary restrictions were catered to. Our MOH had some pretty intense ones, and was so impressed with her meal! Our day-of coordinator, Hannah exceeded all of our expectations and hopes. When we were told we were having a day of coordinator I did not expect the level of commitment, detail, time, and effort that Hannah put into planning our wedding. She did a phenomenal job prior to day of, making sure details, considerations, and our wishes were all captured and organized. Day of, Hannah went above and beyond in keeping things, organized, us stress-free and able to enjoy our day, and showed incredible flexibility and hospitality when we decided to mid reception to extend the reception by an hour. Mid reception, if there was anything that was needed all we had to do was say her name and she was on it.
