Tropicana International Market — Attraction in Duarte

I love this place especially the deli counter. Tropicana years ago specialized in produce and then changed hands. The owners, I believe, are Armenian so there's lots of specialty items in the store. But these are the type of family stores I like to shop at as opposed to the big chain grocery stores. They don't have everything but what they have includes a great selection of things that are used in Middle Eastern cooking. Great sandwiches, good variety of middle east products to buy. Fresh produce. And i need to come back to visit their spice wall, and try another sandwich!

The fresh bread in their delicious sandwiches, the variety of food that may not be found in a supermarket, and the helpful family that make this a solid store to keep visiting.

Update, still the same small store. Some of their products may have changed, based on availability and pricing, but their service and fresh sandwiches have only gotten better. I look forward to many more visits...

Awesome little Middle Eastern market with lots of imported products that are difficult/impossible to find at chain supermarkets. This is your best bet if you want to cook Mediterranean or Middle Eastern food. Extensive selection of spices they pack themselves so the prices are great. The produce section is fresh if a bit small. The deli had tons of great meat and cheese selections as well. While you're there, pick up one of their made fresh in house sandwiches.
