I am 39 years old and I have been going to Armstrong Park since I was 8 years old! I know, 31 years I have had Armstrong Park in my life! Crazy. In 2010 I moved to Arizona, and I now live in Payson. I recently traveled to Texas for a graduation and I got to bring my family with me. I thought, "Hey, I can take my own children to a park I used to love when I was their age." So we went to Armstrong Park/Kidsville, and you know what? It was worth it. i got to see my own children enjoy Kidsville the way I did. There were some things of note that I would like to mention that the maintenance should do something about of this park will not be there for much longer which will make me sad. First of all, fix the swings. This park had five swing spots, but four of them were broken. Your going to tell me Duncanville, that you aren't getting enough tax dollars to fix some swings? Seriously, fix them. Also, there were several places were boards needed to be replaced and missing altogether. It doesn't take that much work to replace missing boards. I know this because I do it. Even with the rising price of wood, boards would cost that much. $100 would probably fix most of them. Also, on one side of the train in the park the whole side is missing. It needs to be replaced. Please fix it because I would hate for a park that is still in use, that I grew up with, to disappear. It's a good park. the last thing of note is that the structure that supports the monkey bars was still there, but the monkey bars were missing! I thought that was kind of ridiculous. It's not really my goal to pick the park apart as it was still a good time for my family, but things like this matter. If Duncanville would take care of the little things now, then Armstrong Park wouldn't fall into disrepair and kids could enjoy as I did when I was a kid, for another twenty years. I'm really glad that my family got to...
Read moreHide & Seek kinda park that kids would love!!!
The playground is super large so you may need to keep track of your child fyi.
Wooden set all connected which makes the hide and sick really fun. Some parts have castle looking and basement compartment.
My kids and I always have fun playing there.
Just wish those big teens would go hang out somewhere else instead of using the kids playground. We often see teens gathering at the wooden playground. Kinda interesting. Seems they also play hide and seek in their own ways :-) Anyhow, parents, watch your little ones would ya?
Police quarter is just next door so sometimes you hear sirens in and out. There is also nice grass field open if you like to play frisbee or kick some balls...
Read moreIt has actually a part called "Kidsville" here, a playground with wood framed structures. The park has a variety of open areas and then the kidsville section that has tons of possibilities! That is where our group Duncanville Parkour is to be found the majority of the time. The city has a tiny bit of understanding of what we do but we are trying to teach the whole community even more. The police only get upset when the city buildings are climbed. We also always watch for the little kids playing so it remains safe for everyone. There are other places in the area we go to that are also great training areas. It has been a surprise to many that our little community holds such gems to...
