Dunwoody Nature Center — Attraction in Dunwoody

The Annual Butterfly festival is always a good time. If you love not only butterflies but things that fly this is the place to be. They have a bee station with a glass enclosed working hive. You can taste fresh honey and get an explanation of how the hive works. The Bird show is always a " hoot" with plenty of winged friends and very knowledgeable handlers. Interesting but small park. It has some nice unpaved trails through lush wooded area, a small creak with and tiny waterfall running through it and a playground area deep in the woods.. The nearby center has done some nice landscaping around small portions of it. Great for a leisurely walk or to watch squirrels or birds. Seems well kept and clean.

With so much tree cover, most of everything is hidden in shade which is good on sunny days but also bad for photographers looking to shoot...

I love this little park. Great for kids! At the moment the plants are still working their way out of dormancy but there are lots of great plants and scenery here. Great walking paths as well, and there's a little indoor area that is fun for kids. They have a snake on display and they're really involved in the community.
