I had ordered an item online for store pickup and jetted over during my lunch break to pick it up. The fulfillment of the order was performed very quickly and I was thankful this location had my item in stock, as the location nearest to me was out of stock. I like starting with the positive aspects in my reviews so I will say that the gentleman who helped me was very nice. It did take a little longer than I’d hoped for my item to be retrieved once I arrived for pickup, and although there was another open register, a line of customers formed relatively quickly as I waited. The Guest Services representative who helped me apologized and once I signed for the merchandise and presented my ID, I was on my merry way back to the office. This is only my second time visiting this Target location but if my Guest Services observations are any indication of the way the store is managed as a whole, I wouldn’t place much confidence in a positive shopping experience in the future. I wasn’t too impressed with the presentation of the ladies at Guest Services- they were not poised or professional and the general area seemed to be lacking a good operations system. None of us leap out of bed every morning in cheerful anticipation for the workday ahead but it’s discouraging that in many places, professionalism and true customer service has been rendered all but obsolete, and that it’s become acceptable for employees to carry on without much social grace or propriety. I have a young family with two young daughters, and I can find their food, clothes, toys, health/beauty items, back-to-school items, sports, bicycles, snow sleds, basketballs, etc. in the store. Plus, the store matches prices from its big competitors. Also, it is clear that the store associates adhere to the Target vision and philosophy - which is: hard working, earnestness, and service oriented - customer first. Also, with COVID-19 and variants, a clean store is a MUST and Target has an associate cleaning the shopping carts (as you enter the store). I do not see that at WalMart, Home Depot and nearly most other stores! I have a chance to give a follow-up review. Everything I said previously is true, plus, I must say that of all of the major department stores, I feel that Target Management has tried the hardest to overcome the global supply chain shortages and disruptions during the long lasting Covid pandemic. It is still frustrating that we cannot find all of the items that I need for my two young daughters (now ages 4 1/2 and 6 1/2), but it is so clear that Target is trying so hard to get as much merchandise as possible to their shoppers and to pass along savings when and where they can and to match competitors prices! Read moreThis Target is by far the worst one I have ever been to. And I frequent a few different ones since I do actually love the store. Order for pick up is incredibly convenient, and I have never had an issue with other Targets when I have ordered for pick up. However, this specific store has given me problems every time I have ordered. More than once, I have ordered, received the email that all of my things were ready, then go in to find that multiple items were not available. I understand when an item isn't in stock but every other store that I have ordered from will send me the email that my item isn't in stock and ask me if I want to cancel, ship, or change store. Not with this store. Each time this has happened the employee tells me I have to wait so she can wander around the store looking to see if the item is available, then they come back and tell me they have to cancel it because it's not. Why did I get the email that all the items in my order were ready then? On top of this, whenever I've gone in, the employees look miserable, and they are so incredibly slow - almost as if they are slow on purpose. And most of the time they are young adult aged or else I would understand the lack of speed in older employees. Avoiding this store at all costs...
