I have no idea what’s going on. We came in because we were having air/PSI imbalance on our tired (Costco purchased). It was off balance by only 1 PSI. We came in a few minutes after our appointment but was further delayed because of the wait in the lobby for other people buying tires and whatever else with the front end associates. Finally when it was our turn, it had been more than 20 mins of wait and the guy fixing cars said it’s too late we’d have to reschedule. We were further delayed due to the delay they had at the lobby…. we were so thankful that the guy decided to go ahead and take the tire since we were there to just do the tire inspection.
Well not too long after, the guy told us that the tire we indicated that had less PSI, had a slash on the tire on the side. On top of that, he said since it’s on the side he can’t patch the tire and we’d have to buy a new tire on the spot. Our tires were purchased from Costco recently and still had thread size of 7+. We were shocked when he said there a slash in the tire and even more so that it’s on the side because we inspect our tires every time we head anywhere. Also the size of the slash was surprising because we saw the alert on the dashboard a few days prior and since then it has only lost around 1 PSI. So that was weird….
So we had no choice but to buy a new tire since we had to do a long haul drive next day. Now the next day during our drive we’re starting to feel our car feels “wobbly”, which has never ever ever happened before with our car, nor did it feel that way driving to Costco to get the tires checked. We had to drive all the way back to nearest costco now waiting to see if they could check the car.
I’m so scared about this because I’m seeing other people in reviews have the same issue. I’m unclear if we got scammed about the slash tire and also if our car got terrible work done. The blessing we thought that happened with them taking our car in, is turning out to be...
Read moreTire Shop—After a 5-hour wait last week, I had top-of-the-line tires installed on my Lexus.
I got the car outside; they said it was ready. I drove half a mile on RT10. A tremendous noise, like an engine component coming off, came out.
Pull over and look under the entire engine. The protection cover just came off and could be knocked down because of the lift at Costco.
It was dragging when I was driving off the parking lot from Costco. I didn’t hear that much noise until I moved further. Don't tell me if Tech didn't know or see it when removing the car from the lift.
Then, I went back to Costco and showed him the whole piece. The mechanic said they don’t have any tools to put this back. You can go to any car mechanic shop, and they can put it back on.
Now, I have those parts in my trunk to install. More or less, after a week of driving soon, when driving over 65 and above, the front tire starts shaking, which leads me to think that the lug nut may be loose. But they were not. They didn’t even do the wheel balancing; they just put the new tire on and got moving. All the tires are defective. I am extremely, very disappointed. I will go back to Costco and Edison to see. Maybe they can help me.
I would not recommend this location for tires—absolutely not! All these African-American mechanics working at the tire shop are totally helpless. Costco is a huge business. Why don't they put a webcam for the customer while the Tech is working on the customer’s car so we can at least monitor what they’re doing? Just my suggestion; it doesn’t cost millions. And more Costco would have something for the customer claim. Costco needs to see if there are reviews at the TIRE SHOP THIS LOCATION 1 or 2 STAR IT NOT THE MAGIC the LEADERSHIP NEED...
Read moreGot very disappointed by Costoc's tire center at East Hanover. The technicians refused rotating the tires of my two new cars: one is 2020 model and the other one is 2021 model.
The first technician told me that a bulge was found in the tire of the 2021 model and asked me to buy a buy net of tires. As those tires were under warranty, I drove to the dealer for another check. The dealer told me that the tires were fine. I also checked the tires and could not find any bulge.
The second technician initially told me that the thread of the tire of my 2020 model was too thin and asked me to buy a new set of tires. I told him that the thread was fine. After measurement, the technician dropped his initial assessment because the tire threads were well deeper than the threshold. But the technician raised another reason that the tires had uneven wear between inside thread and outside thread. They only rotate tires with perfect conditions.
I believe that tire center only wanted to sell tires and will use every excuse to reject a low revenue service: tire rotation. They were a little bit untruthful and tried too hard to...
