I rarely write reviews to places. But I felt the need to do so for this specific location to share my experience. The selection was great. Lots of stuff to choose from. However my review would of been 5 stars if it wasn't for the rude cashier at cashier table number 1 at around 1 o'clock on Thursday September 12th. I have autism and my special intereset in animals and one of those manifests in stuffed animal collecting. I love bringing one stuffed animal with me to places I go when I travel or go shopping or when I go out to eat at a resturant. Normally I get people who admire or think it is cool and compliment on my stuffed animals etc but today I was met with a crabby lady who sort of made a scolded face and stared at my plushie and when I explained to her that it was mine, thinking she thought it was another product she instead asked me in a demanding tone, "yeah I know. What is it for?" Like I needed some explanation as to why I have a stuffed animal with me. Before I could answer she asked again "is it some sort of comfort item." When I tried explaining that I just like them and collect stuffed animals and have about 500 in my collection she again looked at me with judgement and said "you know those are DUST collectors right?" Which if they stayed in the same exact spot for a long long time, sure but it's not really any of her buisness what I collect. Besides snowglobes, statues, tables, drawers, etc etc all can collect dust too.
I felt so uncomfterble by this interaction. Never have I ever had a encounter with someone who critized or judged me for carrying my stuffed animals in my 26 years of life until today. There was literally a group of disable adults that walked in after I was checking out I can't even imagine the judgement she must feel to express to those group of people who might do or behave differently then what society deems as "normal".
I literally never before felt to make a review for a place and I am not one to critize people that work there because I get how tough the job can be and dealing with people, but that interaction just made me...
Read moreHonestly I can’t even believe I’m having to make this review but after calling corporate and filing a formal complaint against the worker Trish and the manager here, it’s only right to put it on blast on how I was treated today. Trish was checking me out and being rough with my glass items and so I asked her to take out my expresso cups that are in a small box out of the bag to wrap them and immediately she starts huffing and puffing with major attitude and making faces while she’s wrapping my stuff. I immediately went to go look for a manager who was NO HELP. She should not ileven have the title manager because she just sat there and said nothing and laughed while her employe Trish caused a scene and called me delusional. As a manager, isn’t it your duty to take care of your customers and not let your employees bash them and call them names and make a scene??? That’s exactly what she did. I saw Trish making faces during checkout so I complained and not only did Trish come at me and be loud, she was making me so uncomfortable I almost called the police for how close she was to me and again the manager who has eyebrows as big as caterpillars did nothing. I’m so happy I made a formal complaint against them for this because it’s so unprofessional for an employee to call a customer delusional to their face in a store and cause a scene. I know what I saw and for no one to do nothing and just laugh about it is very unprofessional. Trish needs a retraining session on how to work with people and not to be so rough with their items by throwing them around and acting like it’s not glass!! Do not recommend this store. Very disrespectful and I hope MANAGEMENT gets involved and investigated this...
Read moreStaff are RUDE. I stopped by the store at 715PM on Thursday, August 15. Every associate who worked there was extremely rude, disrespectful and unpleasant. The woman at the register, glasses, nasal voice with glasses was the worst. I asked the price of a garbage can there I could not locate at first she looked at me like I was bothering her and below her in status. NOT ONE employee said hello or asked if I needed help. I literally stood there saying I need help is there anyone that works here. The one employee cleaning up the store also Caucasian with brown here walked passed me and huffed. Decided to only buy a broom did not want to give any profit to a store with rude employees. I left and went to home sense where everyone was so pleasant. Do yourself a favor, forget home goods and dropped by homesense (I’m aware they may be the same parent company) but I rather spend money at a store with great customer service than at a store with employees who just want you to leave. If management would like to contact me for further details I can provide my receipt to show you the cashier who was rude and unpleasant and every employee...
