Went to the store to grab some items , because my husband like there produce . I walked in with my husband, there wasnât any hand cart for shopping so I asked the owner , Do you guys have any hand cart because I donât see any inside âhe answer in a very disrespectful and rude manner . No! you didnât see the cart outside why didnât you picked it up in his African tone of voice very impolite . So I said no . Then this lady came hugging my husband telling me he had relationship with him , speaking to the owner in their language âtwi â can u image walking in a grocery store and a lady hugging and patting my husband pocket and starring in my face , My husband looked at me like âWhat is going on â in this store. UP to this moment I remembered her, she drove an army green Toyato Camry. She even told me to take care of my man , are else she will take him away from me, I was astonished, I couldnât say anything because it was all Africans and I wasnât sure if they were gonna retaliate , I was so shocked and scared , me and my husband was the only person that wasnât African , . People do not buy anything at that store Are even bring your husband with you, I canât believe that people are so bold , and itâs a grocery store in East Hartford, I guess. Iâm not sure if itâs a grocery store or a club . I will never go back there. Thatâs harassment and the owner kept looking at the woman and didnât even say , stop. I didnât even finished buying the grocery I just went out with a few items. I cannot give this place a zero , and it doesnât deserve a 1 star. The smell in that store is horrible, there was a cat đâ⏠on top...
Read moreMy o my... it's sad how African customer care transferred to the USA. I had the worst experience here, and I am given 3 stars because the owner, who is an elderly lady, is so sweet and friendly. But the 2 guys at the front cash register when I went need to be at the back. Arguing with a customer and telling them that you are older than them all because they asked for good service.
Not personable at all. Also, speaking in your language when upset so that the customer can not hear is rude. If you are not ready to smile and welcome customers, do not be on the register. Work at the back and do not chase the sweet ladies' customers away.
Aside from the bad experience, the shop has a lot of African food that you need and I'll encourage you to visit. If you get treated badly by any worker, just ask for the owner. Hopefully, they will be provided with some...
