Update: they now make their own Chinese bakery goods!! So delicious! If you don't know, Chinese baked goods aren't as sweet as what you are used to, but they are delicious! There are red bean paste buns, sesame paste buns, char siu buns, egg custard buns (favorite!), and others I'm sure.
Love this place! Looking forward to the food court. I love how they have brands that the other major Asian market doesn't have. Great customer service as well. Plus they have Australian goat meat, which is a better alternative than chicken is to beef. They have local beef and pork products. They have a lovely, fresh selection of fish, fresh and frozen. They now have salmon and tuna, crabs, lobster, tilapia red snapper, croaker, Spanish mackerel, scallops, squid, and more. More protein, less saturated fat than chicken or beef. I love the Peking duck from Chinatown as well. Yum! They also carry Pine view dairy milk here as well. Not everything here is more expensive as the one reviewer says. I've compared prices between Meck's at Central to here. I'm just so pleased to have a bigger Asian supermarket in the area.
Update: I'm also excited to see their beautiful selection of Chinese food. Not your run of mill...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePrepare to be amazed. All kinds of rice in medium, large and giant bags. Lots of Vietnamese items as well. Probably the best fish market I have ever seen, assuming you are into preparing whole fish, although they did have some salmon steaks and some other cut up fish. Clams, squid, crabs and scallops too. Shark, skate and the usual fishy suspects. The live carp were a bit much for me, but knock yourself out. Then on to the butchers. More organ meats than I knew existed, like pork uteri. (If you are studying anatomy, here's a great opportunity for you). Lots of liver and kidneys, tongues, tripe, pork belly, frozen duck, etc. Lots of vegetables, including "king mushrooms" that I have never seen before. In spite of what others said during the pandemic, the vegetables looked reasonably fresh. Turkey Hill ice cream in the freezer. Vietnamese coffee, Japanese chocolate, lots of tea. There was not a lot of dark soy sauce, but lots of light including Kikkoman, my general standard and Kimlan, plus lots of other sauces that may or may not be useful to you. There is a row of housewares and dishes and cooking utensils and pots. The people were very helpful and courteous, and happy to speak English for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is the best Asian Store in all of Lancaster! The food selections are excellent, and the prices are unbelievably good! I have spent almost $30 here each time I go simply because I can't resist the wonderful things this store has to offer. One of my favorite parts about it is their tea selection... It's endless! And if you're feeling snacky, they have it all. š Fish, fruit, and vegetable options are delectable, and they also have really nice ceramics there that you could buy as a delightful present for someone (or in my case, the nostalgia of once living in an Asian country, which I desperately miss!). If you have any second thoughts about this store, I can assure you that there is no need for that! They also have a very polite staff that work there. Posted below are some of my favorite teas!
I have recently updated my review, and I just wanted to show how drastically my originally small tea collection has changed with this new photo. š I love this Asian Supermarket...
