DOT Physical: Intake nurse twice took my B.P., and 2x her digital reading was over 20 higher than my actual B.P. I told her the reading was historically quite inaccurate/wrong, and she was unwilling/unable/didn't care to take a manual reading. Anyway, when I thought about it later in the process and mentioned it, the physician offered to take manual reading which confirmed my actual B.P., rather than the one that would go on my record (DOT) and would have seen my PCP recommend considering medication "therapy." A service for professionals who are required to have the PA DOT physical to ensure their health might do better. Being "off" by ~18% is no bueno. On exit, I saw the initial nurse and mentioned the various readings, she responded that they know the machine is often off. Also the bogus infrared check at the door, and "Have you been around anyone with COVID?", are a bit pointless when they were letting in a lady who said she had been around COVID...and when the infrared checks aren't a reliable fail safe. BTW, I've been wearing a mask since 2 weeks prior to the PA recommendation, to protect others by doing my part to stop the spread... A simple educational phrase might be more efficacious than having an armed Dr. Mastropietro greeting guests lol. How about, "Welcome. Please wear a mask, as some of our staff work with compromised persons. Help us save a life. Thank you." Aside from the minor deficiency which lead to no harm, service was otherwise good to great...
Read moreWent there for random drug screen with DOT, was told wear mask, I had a shield on and that was difficult enough. Showed them Dr note and SCOTUS decision stating masking requirements are unconstitutional. Was told no mask it will be marked as a refusal which means loss of my job and career. If this is how they care about patients, by bullying and intimidation without regard for real mental and emotional health issues, they should be charged with torture and forced to pay...
Read moreThe customer service at this location is awful! Not only was the receptionist extremely short and rude with me, I watched her do it with everone that came in after me. I understand the staffing shortage, but that does not give her the right to be rude with patients/people. She signed up to be the first face people see when they enter the establishment and shame on Penn Medicine for...
