Our five year plus search for a replacement sofa and entertainment center joyously concluded at Gish’s Lancaster store. From our initial contact, Pia Cyrulnik’s expertise was readily apparent in assisting us with our desired Lancer sofa design, cushion support and fabric selection to ensure many years of comfort and enjoyment.
When I mentioned entertainment centers, Pia showed us the Heartland Mission 60 inch Entertainment Center and said that it could be customized to our needs. On our return with measurements and some DVDs, we discovered that the unit was slightly undersized for storage of our DVD’s. Pia was instrumental in working with the Amish craftsman to ensure that our unit was properly sized for storage of DVD’s in all of the media storage drawers while keeping the overall size to only 61 inches wide. The craftmanship details of this piece outside and inside surpass anything we have seen in other stores or online, and it truly is finely crafted, quality furniture.
As our desired finish was no longer available, Pia listened to our description of room lighting conditions, and ensured that we saw wood samples in the same lighting conditions as our family room. And, her follow-up with the Amish craftsmen and other further furniture manufacturers to ensure that our specific needs were met is greatly appreciated and fully displays her designer knowledge and expertise.
As we live in Maryland outside Gish’s normal delivery area, we had to pay extra for delivery, and Pia’s focus on ensuring that both our sofa and entertainment center were appropriately timed for a single delivery was greatly appreciated. We were surprised when we were called to schedule our delivery on 12/31/2022 which was much earlier than proposed. And, Brandon and Adrian were extremely attentive in the delivery, placement and unpacking of our pieces, informing us of the warranties and furniture care, and waiting to ensure that we were totally satisfied with everything before departing.
It has been many years since we have encountered such an exceedingly high focus on detail, quality, and customer satisfaction from purchase to delivery, which was greatly appreciated. Gish’s Furniture definitely stands out when compared to other furniture retailers in terms of offering high quality furniture with a customer...
Read moreThis was my worst experience trying to purchase furniture. I went to the Lancaster showroom in August to but a TV stand, stools and a kitchen table with chairs. The furniture was guaranteed by Thanksgiving. The problems started with our sales woman, Terry. She took 45 minutes to fill out the paperwork and still made mistakes. She emailed me a few days later asking me to confirm which stools I wanted. I replied telling her that I wanted to the one I was sitting on. She told me that I say on both so I asked her to send me a picture of both. She sent a picture of the one I sat on and then a few hours later she sent a picture of a stool in a magazine. If you don't have that model in the store I couldn't have sat on it. A few days before Thanksgiving we received our delivery. The chairs and stools were the same color as the TV stand NOT the kitchen table. We held on to the table but returned the chairs and stools. I spoke to Marty in their custom service department. It was obvious that he was annoyed that he had to deal with this issue. He offered to refund my delivery fee. He also told me that I had a balance of $170. I asked him to knock that amount of the price since I had to miss work twice for the deliveries and the order was not delivered by Thanksgiving as promised. He agreed to do that. He told me that I would receive the correct items on 12/10. On 12/12 I called him for a status and to tell him that I doubled checked the numbers and he actually owed me money. He asked me to send over the numbers so he could see them. He agreed that my numbers were correct but now refused to give me the $170 he agreed to. I asked him why and explained that I had to take off work twice, babysit this operation and double check all their numbers and the order was not delivered on time. He said that he was only willing to make the balance zero and he could not do anything else. I asked him to escalate it and he refused. The chairs were delivered on 12/14. They were the wrong color again. I returned the table and chairs and got a refund. The only positive thing I can say about this experience is that my refund...
Read moreGish’s furniture store in Lancaster County is a hidden gem not only for its fine furniture but also for the creative, knowledgeable, design expertise of sales associate Pia Cyrulnik. I cannot fully express my appreciation for Pia’s service. She happened to be the sales associate who immediately met us as we entered the store to explore the possibility of purchasing a few new pieces of furniture for our planned move to a retirement cottage. What a gem and jewel she was for us; she made a major decision for us a pleasure.
Upon learning what our reason for visiting the store was, she offered to meet personally with us at our cottage at the retirement home to see exactly what interior design layout would be appropriate. With that, she quickly laid out a design schematic to scale for the whole cottage. She worked with us to position furniture pieces, select flooring, carpet, tile, granite choices, kitchen design, lighting fixtures, and mud room/laundry design. Her ability to assist us with incorporating furniture pieces from our original home along with selecting appropriate new quality pieces of furniture to compliment each other was greatly appreciated. Her interior design expertise was most valuable to me and is certainly a number one reason to visit the Gish Furniture to have access to her superb design ability. It was an enjoyable experience, and I would highly recommend Gish’s Furniture Store and Pia’s interior...
