PLEASE TAKE THIS COMMENT INTO CONSIDERATION.I read the reviews of the salon before going and felt confident enough to go. The women in this salon doesn’t know who speak Spanish and assume maybe if your black that you don’t speak Spanish so they talk about people who are black with long hair questioning if they are mixed as if black people can’t have long hair. Which is also confusing because majority or the clients for that day were black!I asked for a wash, treatment and trim . The lady who trimmed my hair was coughing and was cutting my hair straight across for each row she flat ironed which isn’t how to give a proper trim I had to switch seats to another lady who did it properly . The women moves your head the direction she wants with force and they don’t use heat protectant!!!Although my hair did come out very straight nice and stayed for a while,It’s been about 2 weeks since they were the last to touch my hair and it’s falling out from root and bottom. My curl pattern isn’t the same. I really thought damage like this couldn’t happen to my hair because I know what my hair can and can’t handle and it’s still broken. It’s sad to say that the only person in that store with proper manners and is the owner. If everyone had the same customer service as her it’ll be so much better . It’s already a space of just women which can get catty easily so a better approach to a lot of things would make it feel like a safe place for a girl to unwind.
My reply: (not sure how to reply directly to your reply) But again you customer service and care for your clients hair was great , perhaps a staff meeting on how to improve customer service as a whole would be best and a filter on even what’s appropriate to say in their Spanish language, because I’m Panamanian so Im black and people wouldn’t know I understand what they are saying in Spanish I don’t make it known I speak it for this reason exactly . As far as the damage to my hair I feel as though heat protectant should always be present for the girls with more tight curls. ( black girl would be more confident that you know how to care for their hair in for the long run when they see its...
Read moreThis is the worst hair salon I’ve ever visited. Please don’t go here. I chose it for its proximity to my home, but it’s not worth it at all. This is the first and last time I will ever come here.
Upon arrival, I was made to wait to get my hair colored, despite seeing two other staff members who seemed available. It could’ve been a language barrier, because they kept on saying “OK” when I was showing them photos of what I wanted (no other follow up questions, explanations or whatsoever). They clearly lacked the competence to execute my requests. My biggest regret is that I didn’t leave right then and there. They bleached my roots for close to an hour (maybe longer) before washing it, because the stylist was busy with another client. Meanwhile, the other two staff members were just sitting around on their phones, seemingly unable to wash my hair.
I showed them the haircut I wanted, and the stylist butchered it. She cut the front way too short without confirming if that was my desired length, and the scissors she used were dull. She didn’t use thinning scissors to make it look professional; it honestly looks like a child did it. To make matters worse, when she blow-dried my hair, she used the highest setting, causing my scalp to burn and my face to turn red. When I kindly asked her to lower the setting, she handed me a cooking spoon to cover my face. This place is a big joke. She didn’t use any heat protectant prior to blow-drying my hair, even after I asked and saw smoke coming from the blow-dry. I live just 6-8 minutes away, and by the time I got home, my hair already looked frizzy and dry. My bf also said that my hair smelled completely burned.
I typically refrain from posting bad reviews, especially for minor issues. Quite frankly, I can’t even remember the last time I left a bad review on an establishment. However, this salon is an exception. If you love your hair and want a stylist who is competent and truly cares about the outcome, please save yourself the trouble and...
Read moreYesterday was my second time coming to this shop, when I came in no one greeted me like I see them do the other people. I had to ask where to go and where to sit, I guess it's because I'm different idk. Secondly I want to say that I washed and conditioned my hair a day before I got there I was only suppose to be coming for a press and trim but i got a lil sweaty walking there. My hair wasn't nappy it was well detangled and everything, the lady who washed my hair was being so ruff brushing my hair from the root, she pulled my hair out. Then the lady who styled my hair was real cool and nice to me, but when she was curling my hair something told me to check the flat irons not to mentioned she used excessive heat on my hair when using the blow dryer. But when I checked the flat iron she had the blue & silver nano titanium flat irons on the highest they go on my long fine hair. I had to make her turn them down to half, them things are hot! I know because I have them home. but just like the first time all I keep smelling when I turn my head is burned hair thus is crazy they need better training there because they don't care for African Americans hair. I put to much into my beautiful hair to get it this long for someone to treat it wrongly. I wanted to be a loyal customer and I triex to give them the benefit of doubt because the shop is close to my house, I like the way my hair comes out and they were a little nicer to me this time during my time there but I can't get with the excessive heat use and them ripping my hair out.......
I don't like to leave bad reviews but I have to be real and make other people aware. I feel like I was growing a relationship with them just wish they would treat my hair better. Oh! And I had to ask her to put heat protectant in my hair as well. This shop has alot of potential they just need to treat...
