College is what you make it. Esu is great! I was a freshman coming in as an early start now it's a year later and I'm a sophomore with a good gpa and 7 credits ahead of most sophomore's because of the early start. My official 1st freshman semester I slacked a lot because I was tired and felt as though I didn't have no break because I came to college 2 days after I graduated HS. But after winter break I was refreshed and my grades had gone up. The professors are all great and they really work with you! Free tutors for any subject is great as well. It's great to have academic advisors! The food is ok. I love the union personally! We're pretty close to Walmart and Kmart (walking distance) or catch the shuttle, your choice) We have a mall and outlets. Wawa at the end of campus open 24hrs. Cabs are pretty cheap to take you almost anywhere but I prefer uber (cheaper). Almost every place delivers to campus (cluck u is the best). Trackside is a good place to eat. Main Street is cool to (simsta's on a Thursday night is poppin). Movies in the mall and daily campus activities. Nail salon, hair salon, dollar store. Medical center on campus, cvs around the corner and hospital right at the end of campus (Which is great for me because Of my cronic asthma). Resident halls are pretty cool. I just couldn't live in traditional, wasn't my thing. Mentors are great. Over all esu is a good school to...
Read moreYou know, I'm not going to bash the school regardless of my bad experiences because ..they are experiences I'm sure everyone will have in college. We've all had our issues with enrollment services and on campus parking. I want to go to a school in a big city..so that automatically knocked me out of the ESU fan club. I'm also a commuter, so I drive there everyday, I wake up earlier than some on campus students just to be in class on time. But then again that's all commuters in the US. ESU is for anyone who is easliy going to take everything there given to and use it positively. sometimes, there wont be the oppurtunitites you're looking for because this is a smaller college. you can not compare this school to Penn State or Temple. This is ESU and its just not the same. Its smaller, its every strong on athletics, its in the mountains, and its very cheap. Cheap is why I go there..no other reason. I'm looking to love my education but I don't at ESU. I've even met some really cool people..but that's not even enough for me to be passionate about going there. Idk..its your choice. make sure you do something you love and always work hard. success is determined by the quality of the person, not the institution. I read that on facebook lol..but...
Read moreGraduated in May 2021 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and went on to get my M.S. in Biochemistry at the University of Scranton which I am now finishing. I cannot recommend the sciences here enough, especially the chemistry and biochemistry department. SciTech is absolutely gorgeous and the labs are amazing. You always know it's the right place if you walk in and are amazed by the labs. Although some lab equipment could be due with updating since it runs on Windows 98, I still got the best education here. Well worth the money and anyone who says otherwise obviously isn't in it for the long haul. The faculty are among the nicest you will ever meet and the campus is gorgeous. Plenty of opportunity for growth and help when you need it. Just about everyone on campus is advocating for you to complete your degree, despite any obstacles that are in your way and will work with you to make sure you finish. Still friends with a lot of the people I met here. Definitely a place you will miss...
