This isn’t just a rant, and there are more details to list. This is just my experience and a warning to others. I typically don’t write bad reviews as you see on my profile. To start, I am mechanically inclined, but have to follow warranty rules and three kids limited my free time. A bit long, but here we go… I will NEVER purchase or deal with Amundsons Appliance in Eau Claire again. We bought a GE dryer from Amundsons as we like to support local business as much as possible. The immediate purchase, delivery, and removal of our prior dryer went smooth as a button. We bought the extended warranty, and were happy with our purchase. A few months go by and we notice that clothes aren’t drying after a full cycle and there is minimal lint in the machine trap. Long story short, as a those few months went by I had made multiple calls, 3 tech visits where I had to leave work, I got the same story explained to me like I’m 5 that lint comes from clothes and it is normal. Wild right? Who would have thought? I’ve been doing laundry for over 20 years with different machines in different homes, and never have I seen this before. I was also told, “well that’s just how the new dryers these days work. That dang energy efficiency stuff, ya know.” Huh? You’re kidding right? I have pictures? You’ve seen what’s happening. You even said you would be upset about it too and it’s not normal. I got to the point where I literally begged for help on multiple occasions. Never once did they even attempt to change a single part! I have lint buried like a blanket across our rocks outside, I clean the flap cover that has worked fine the entire 6 years at this home, and I make the journey at minimum monthly even during the winter (where I have to trudge through the snow to the back yard) to clean the flap cover. I called GE and explained what was going on. Told them not to send out Amundsons for a 4th time. They sent out a company called Prime.(not like this a totally easy endeavor either, but this is long enough) They least replaced some plastic parts that hold the lint trap in and he said it is absolutely not normal. It worked again for a month or two and now it’s back to the same old issues. But guess what. Both manufacturers warranty and the extended warranty are expired, GE won’t touch it again, and here we sit. I can’t afford to take anymore time off for tech visits of somebody coming in to tell me how clothes give off lint(mind you we have no new clothes and this happens with all loads) and I’m not fond of having Amundsons come back here. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. This is the short story. Take it for what you will, but I figure I’d warn somebody. Lastly, check your water fittings. This morning I notice they didn’t tighten ours enough and it has been dripping, so I found mold today. This drove this review I have been putting off. Trust but verify. Hope this saves somebody a lot of time and headache. These are old pictures about 2 weeks apart each. The rocks are now covered as I was told by them to use a grateless cover. I’ll have to update with a pic of later. Now it just blows all over my rocks and yard.
7/2/25 - UPDATE I attempted to call the number you provided here twice throughout the day on 6/30/35, and once again on 7/2/25. All three times, I was lead to a message stating that the voicemail box as not been setup. I guess I am not sure what I was expecting, other than being able to at a minimum leave a voicemail, receive a call back, and/or if Renee did answer, maybe just to listen and understand your perspective. At this cross-road, I have already chalked this up as a total loss, so let's just let this lie. I am not ready to commit more time to taking off work to have a repair man stop out again for a fifth time(3 times Amundson's), leave further review edits, or attempt to find a solution that would change my feelings in regard to my civic duty to communicate to others of my...
Read moreMy wife and I were in the market for a new kitchen package (fridge, range, microwave and dishwasher). A friend recommended Amundson’s, as she’d recently purchased a washer/dryer set and had been impressed with the experience, so we stopped in. Boy are we glad we did! The store has a great selection, which is wonderful because with a purchase like this, you want to touch it all and get a feel for the products. Sure - you can get a wide selection at plenty of places; what you CAN’T get just anywhere is Danielle Folz Harrington. Danielle was amazing. After the greetings/pleasantries were out of the way and we were ready to get down to business, she started off by asking lots of questions about what we currently have, what we’re looking for, what we like to do in the kitchen (cook, bake, etc), how much space we had to work with and took notes the whole time. Then we were off! She took us around the store, explaining the pros and cons of different brands, styles and finishes. When we expressed interest in a particular line, she zeroed in on those products, laying out the various models available and what each offered for the money. She encouraged us to “play” with the machines and see if they felt right for us. Decision made, but not quiiite ready to buy, she sent us home with a detailed estimate and spec sheets on each of the 4 appliances. After measuring our kitchen a second time, we realized that what we had selected wouldn’t fit after all. (OUR mistake, not Danielle’s) We went back in, explained the situation, and with our new (accurate) measurements in hand, Danielle took us through the whole process again. I’ve not laughed so much in a retail setting in my entire life. Danielle made it easy, fun, and relaxing. Plus, she’s CRAZY knowledgeable, so we left feeling incredibly confident that we got the best appliances for our needs and space. We’ve not yet received our new kitchen, so I can’t speak to the delivery/installation service - but the shopping experience gets a 10/10, 5 gold stars, 100% from both my wife and I. I’ve never felt so good about dropping that kind of cash. Thank...
Read moreNot sure where to start, But BUYER BEWARE!!… Been a long 5 years on failed attempts to repair my appliances. Terrible customer service by Amundson’s (Appliances were purchased from them, including extended warranty, and attempted/failed repairs done by them) Now come to find out they used a non-food grade material in their last attempt to fix my fridge. Not only is this a health/safety hazard, it is also illegal? So now the manufacturer themselves won’t even do repairs due to the mess Amundson’s have made. Many attempts to remedy issues with them and they now refuse to provide my service even though my extended warranty was purchased through them and has not expired. They claim I am “threatening them” because I said if they won’t help me I have no other choice other than litigation. They don’t return my calls and will not fix the damage they have caused. Now my families health has been compromised due to their faulty repair and I am stunned that they refuse to do what is right and help remedy this situation they have caused. I have also asked (more than once) for copies of all previous repair orders and although I am told they were emailed,...
