I asked for a fade and together, the barber and I, determined a low fade is appropriate. I did get a fade; however, he must have taken a single guard (after the initial skin taper) nearly all the way up to the top portion of my head (not progressively getting longer). Then, where he stopped, it jumped to approximately 1 inch. Again no tapering…this was on one side, whereas the other side he did taper but not completely. Ultimately, it looked like a rug with a toupee on top. Furthermore, the top of my hair was cut showing lines going across my head (ear to ear direction), never seen that before. I’ve been getting fades for 34 years, and there’s been issues, but this haircut was very disappointing, considering the other reviews, and fades seem to be what they profess in. The barber and owner were respectful and polite. The owner did offer to fix the haircut but I declined. I did get my hair fixed from another establishment the next day. This is by far the best barber shop you can visit in Eau Claire, especially for shorter haircuts and facial hair. I myself have very long hair and they still do an amazing with it, but the clean/line up on the beard is the best I have ever seen period. Amazing staff with real and professional personalities that make you feel like you're not just a wig being tossed around by an angry set of clippers. But, don't think a sick fade is only for grown-ups, I've walked in for an appointment and seen some kids styles that will make a yearbook photo look like a music video shoot. The first time I had my hair cut at Premium Blendz, I came in with a botched hairstyle from elsewhere that needed to be fixed. The original goal was to have my hair cut from long (mid-back), to short (fade w/ a few inches on top). At the other place, they gave me nothing that I asked for, and it looked nothing like the pictures I showed for reference. Thankfully, after digging on Google, I landed an appointment with Navontay Wilson at Premium Blendz. For 2 years, this barber has sent me home confident and happy after every appointment.
