I feel bad leaving a bad review but, it was bad…

We had not just bland food (seemingly old/reused rice??)… a side that was listed on the menu as included in the meal never showed up. The service was also VERY poor… no one checked on us, no one brought us a bill so we were forced to sit through a blaring loud soundcheck going on for about an hour straight for music happening later that night.

It seemed a little stressful for staff as the speakers weren’t functioning correctly…but…

I’m not being dramatic when I say that this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had… so bad it was almost funny in the moment… I would have left any amount of cash on the table to just get the heck out, and in fact, that’s exactly what we had to do… And I didn’t want to short them on money so that means we probably left way more than necessary …

The most frustrating part is that I can speak some Spanish, and the person who was primarily waiting on us, chose to ignore us entirely instead of attempting to communicate with me… when I was trying to get our order in after sitting there with drinks for some time, they literally just shrugged/waved me off from across the room… It was really awkward…

I’m leaving 2 stars for now…but I’m possibly willing to give it a try another time… it does seem like others have had really good experiences. Open to suggestions and specific menu items that are guaranteed fresh! Is there a certain day or time I should go in for better service and...

I haven't tried all the food they serve but wow. This is the best Mexican I've had since growing up in San Antonio Texas. The steak chimichanga , beans and rice are authentic and pristine. The pasole brings me back to childhood and all the salsa is freshly made and just terrific all around.The staff is friendly but I'd like to learn more Spanish because it's difficult to communicate with the language barrier. The only request I have is to get some American flags in the store. They sell tons of products from Mexico and it's understandable that they don't have any American products but it will be a great sign of respect if they decide to get some even if it's only patriotic apparel. I’m from California and enjoy authentic Mexican food. I used to eat here all the time. My favorites were chorizo con huevos, mojarra Frita, bean tostadas. Dec 2024 Since then i’ve tried other menu items and was seriously disappointed. The fajitas are overcooked the five dollar Coca-Cola was flat and other menu items were not good. The most grievous part was that they changed the prices without putting those changes on the menu. When I went to pay the check it was two dollars more than the price on the menu. I asked about it and they said yeah it’s been that way for a while. We’re waiting for new menus. They didn’t offer to make it right. When you see the price on the menu you don’t expect them to jack it up when they give you the check! I haven’t been back since and I won’t ever go back....
