Mattress Firm Eden Prairie — Attraction in Eden Prairie

The Mattress Firm warranty sounds reasonable when you read it, but in my case, it was worthless. My $700 Beautyrest mattress developed multiple 4-inch-deep crevasses and was clearly defective. After submitting the required documentation and photos online, Mattress Firm approved my warranty claim and sent me the details of how to get a credit for my $700 original purchase price that I could apply to another purchase within 45 days. In the store, I found that the “sticker” price for a comparable mattress had doubled to $1,400 since my original purchase, but was “on sale” for 50% off, meaning that the $700 “sale” price was the same as the warranty credit I had received for my defective mattress. Sounds great; however, the fine print in the warranty says the $700 credit cannot be applied to “sale” prices so, in my case, to replace my defective mattress I would have to apply my $700 warranty credit to the $1,400 sticker price and pay $700 which, coincidently, is the same price anyone walking into the store could buy the same mattress. My warranty was worth nothing. A quick look around the store shows that Mattress Firm’s marketing strategy is to have high “sticker prices” which are reduced to more reasonable prices with in-store discounts. This might feel like a good deal when you initially buy a mattress, but it will bite you if you have a warranty claim. We bought a black hybrid plus Jennings mattress on 3/7/2020. Darin at the Eden Prairie location was so welcoming from the moment we walked in. He took the “overwhelming factor” out of picking out a new bed. I honestly have no clue about mattresses. He asked us questions about how we sleep so we could pick the appropriate amount of firmness. We decided with his help that we needed a medium mattress. From that point he helped us find one in our price range that was incredibly comfortable and suited our needs. He didn’t pressure us at all but was respectful of our budget. We tried many mattresses and definitely took our time finding the “right one”. Darin didn’t mind that we went back and forth from a couple different mattresses-he said “take all the time you need.” We got our mattress today and I couldn’t wait to try it out! I laid down and closed my eyes and woke up from a 2 hour nap! On my old mattress it would take me quite some time to fall asleep. I absolutely LOVE our new mattress already! My husband made the comment that he can sleep on his back now. The mattress forms to our body and takes pressure off of joints. I have had 3 kids so my back is not in the greatest shape so the extra support of this mattress is very nice! Thank you so much Darin for your honesty, patience and help! I compare Mattress Firm to Blockbuster in terms of their hidden fees. I would give 0 stars if available.

I put Mattress Firm up there with the worst customer experience I have had. When sold the mattress and adjustable frame I was told if I didn’t like it I would be given 120 days to return. After a week of not liking the purchase due to sleepless nights I called about returning and was told to give it a couple months. After two months I went in to return the mattress. I was then told that I could not return the adjustable base as well as a restocking fee of 20% of the mattress cost. Needless to say I feel like the customer experience was awe full. There is a reason Mattress Firm has filled for bankruptcy multiple time while other places have not.

I went to Sleep Number shortly after and told them of my situation. They where able to work with me in terms of helping me recoup some of my restocking fees with Mattress Firm. Also Sleep Number does not charge a restocking fee to reflect a true trial period with your purchase. All they ask is for a pickup fee.

I will never send a referral to Mattress Firm and it is only a matter of time before they file for...
