Obviously this is a bias review of this resale shop, this is no thrift-store, I can assure you you will not find me deals on the completely unorganized shelves at this location what you will find is a staff that could give two shifts less about helping anybody a management team who have absolutely no idea what it is to manage in an organization that is nothing but a succubus on an industry meant to help. This is not a non-profit store your charitable donations are not a tax write-off you will not receive any credit for any items donated which most certainly shouldn't be the intention when discarding your unwanted household contents but nonetheless the fact of the matter is that they are a for-profit business making somebody entirely too much money and I can assure you that a Sperry memo portion of the proceeds go to actually making a difference in the community that yields its bottom line. Please do your research and find a location that will actually value your donations value your business and value your community. The staff here has no interest in any opinions that have no interest in following consumer protection laws they have no interest in educating themselves in consumer protection laws and once again they are doing nothing to help anybody but the man breaking in a substantial profit from donated items they twist the arms of real Charities and pay pennies on the dollar for other organizations out there making a difference and trying to leave a positive impact on the community, they use these smaller charitable organizations to round up their products to fill their shelves they pay a dime for a bag of clothes and they pay absolutely nothing for major appliances Electronics and high item goods due to their contracts with these other organizations they've basically out weird your mom and pop thrift store by cheating the other foundations out of fair compensation for be rounded up donations that are pumped into their store regularly most items that they deem unworthy are thrown in a dumpster behind their store I witness it regularly and have been told by many employees first hand. Please please don't take my word for it I encourage you to do research on Amvets and their business model they are not a nonprofit organization they do not deserve your charitable donations please please do research please find a location that will consider your gifts a blessing. Corruption is obvious when you're in establishment who refuses refunds and doesn't take any form of payment besides cash they focus more on theft then they do on cleanliness of their store have no structure of pricing whatsoever and refused to follow any consumer guidelines and mandated walls outline for any seller of consumer goods... Please I beg you to do research and see this company for what they are another greedy money hungry business thst prays on the fact that most people will not inform themselves of their real business model and...
Read moreSo this place is bizarre. I've been driving by for years and years and have been in dozens of times wondering what the what people see in this place walking out with nothing.
Prices can be very high so far as thrift stores go and why the parking lot's always so busy, I don't even know. Even when for all those years the sign was blown off from whatever hurricane, the lot's always full up.
...until I learned how it works here. They tee it high and let it fly with the prices, at least at first. Then things get discounted over time.
Anyway, while I wouldn't go so far as to say this's exactly a honey hole, what I would say is that some pretty good stuff tends to sit around until it's deeply discounted. Customers tend to wait for the discounts, so in a way, you've got a better shot at the premium stuff if you're willing to pay the premium prices. I've had some good luck getting Polo, Birkenstock, Doc Marten, etc. Lots of panning for gold here.
Parking can be hard even though the lots large, crowds can be oppressive, and there's a lot of junk to root through.
Staff's always been friendlier than your usual thrift store.
And from the customers, I'm told a lot of this stuff goes overseas. Not sure if it's true, but...
Read moreBRING CASH !!!!!!! I have shopped here and I have donated items here. I thought they were the drop off for Vietnam Vets of America but I’m not so sure. I never saw the items I donated put out on the floor which makes me think they sent them to another location. I agree with some who say this a resale shop, it’s a little suspect. This location is heavily stocked with clothes and shoes. I would say 70% clothes and shoes. The remaining 30% is collective other stuff: kitchen, home goods, electronic, toys etc. Prices are all over the place. Some items are a bargain and some are priced higher than retail at a regular brick and mortar store. The Vera Bradley bags are a good example of that. Check out here can be long wait, speaking of long, the lines to check out here are long, so be prepared. The staff were helpful and polite, even the cashiers were OK. It’s just that you wait a long time in line to check out which...
