I always dine at a restaurant at least three times before leaving a review, just to be fair to the owner/business. This last visit, we ordered the single and double hamburgers, fries and tater tots. The 3 star rating was based on various factors, the first being the actual taste of the burger. To be fair, I would have left a 3 1/2 stars, if possible. I would rate the taste of the meat at least 4 stars, wonderful flavor and a nice hearty size burger, the bun is higher quality as well, tastes similar if not the same as the butter rolls. Definitely a better burger than the most of the fast food chains. Personally, a burger is more than a bun and meat. That's why we have so many choices and Beth's certainly gives you the options on variety; however, my taste buds seem to fall short when it comes to the toppings. I'm fine with shredded lettuce but if the lettuce gets lost in the mayo and bun, what's the point? Just my opinion, the burger would be better with lettuce that's not shredded or add more lettuce, I should be able to taste or tell if I have lettuce on my burger and the tomato has not always been the freshest but again, in all fairness, it's difficult to find good produce in this area. My issue was more so with the fried items. The fries, tots, etc., always taste like the oil is old and needs to be changed. If you are a potato fan like myself, nothing is worse than looking forward to your fries or tots and you are disappointed as soon as you take that first bite. I love seeing the awards you have received that are all over your website but there really should be an area for customer feedback. It makes more sense to get this information directly from your customers, you don't have to display the feedback, if you choose not to but this gives you the opportunity to know what your patrons think about your food and service, if you care to know. With that stated, I would recommend Beth's Burger Bar but they could be better than...
Read moreI read the reviews on this burger bar and decided to give it a try. Wish I went to Wendy's instead OR found a different burger restaurant. I didn't notice these were smashburgers until I read some of the 1 star reviews after eating here where it was then mentioned.
You have to pay for saute (fried) onions which I asked for instead of raw onions. Didn't see or taste any onion on my burger. I should have tasted and seen them on the burger for the extra cost.
The burger tasted average. Being a Burger Bar I had expected Gourmet style burgers. Nope just plain burgers. Yes you can get different types of burgers but even then the burger is just a plain old burger with different toppings.
Now as for the restaurant itself. It looked like a unkept dive bar rather than a burger bar. The inside door handle (bar type) is held together with duct tape on both sides (and you can't fix that?). The floor hasn't been swept (trash on the floor) though that could have just happened but doubtful.
Floor tiles im sure gets mopped, but it is grimmy so you can see traffic paths. And it was not just from the day of my visit, it is months of buildup. I had worked on the floor crew where I worked for years and we scrub all types of flooring, waxing on tile floors and carpet cleaning, and this with 30k to 40k people walking on those floors daily, so I am experienced in this matter.
Then there is the two mobile ac units that don't really cool the dining area. Really? Cant bother getting the building ac fixed? Not very appealing when you are dining in and having to look at those mobile ac units.
I can understand having a 50's or 60's appeal but at least it should be clean and maintained.
Sorry no chance of going back for a second visit. First impression is what a customer...
Read moreI would have given five stars but we stopped ordering at this restaurant due to service not food.
Chef or male, picked up the phone and was disgruntled when we called and said we would be ordering 6 burgers. (Maybe it was busy) He put us on hold and we hung up, maybe he realized it was alot of work, so we decided not to order here anymore, we bothered them too much.
Second time we asked if names could be put on the meals and were told they dont do that there. This is fine, but I believe it was the same associate, previously mentioned, we haven't asked for names and dont care to.
The first time around I had a associate a new guy not know he wasn't allowed to tip outside of the budget for our stores paid meals. We didnt expect it to be a issue here, we avoid those places since its too much hassle. He comes back saying the workers were complaining about no tip in the back when he was waiting for the food. And when he was going to his car half way he was told to sign receipt and thats when he put a tip on it.
Im not going to knock the staff cause I get it, its maybe four or six burgers when we order, we enjoyed eating here but we will stop now since they dont want to deal with us.
And I dont blame them its alot of burgers and they may be busy, going through rush hour, or maybe not fairly paid, It is what it is.
They've got very good burgers. And the blue cheese they use is amazing.
We were recommended to go here by customers, we loved it at first, and we sent people...
