John Lyons Park is one of my favorite locations on the Eastside. It was a vacant lot for many years. It is a great addition in a very walkable neighborhood. The park is packed with family friendly amenities- off street parking (12 spaces), large open turf area, walking path with mutt mitts, fitness area, covered picnic tables, playgrounds, futsal court, basketball, sand volleyball, and restrooms. The park is well maintained by the city and the community. For more low-key enjoyment, grab your favorite read from the newly renovated library across the street, pick a bench and enjoy the sunshine. Mornings are peaceful, the evenings and weekends can be crowded as the park has great lighting to enjoy amenities late into...

Dinosaur playground!! Really clean, lots of places to sit, ample trash cans, and tucked away from busy streets. Playground equipment for toddlers/preschoolers as well as bigger kids. Basketball court, beach volleyball setup, a fitness circuit with built-in equipment and instructions. Nice shrubbery and a few trees for shade near the playground. There is also a wide, paved trail around the grassy expanse of the park that is perfect for running or walking, strolling, dog-walking, or for practicing one's bike-riding (probably most appropriate for kids though). Bonus: you can walk to or from the Irvin Schwartz public library branch,...

My family and I went here for Easter the park was nice, clean and had enough room for lots of people. We really enjoy ourselves, plus it was a really beautiful day, would definitely take my daughter to this park if I need to get her out of the house, lol. There's were restroom and lots of things to do at this park, have a nice walk, basketball, play soccer or just play at the park, if you want to you can set up a volleyball court which some people did the day we went and play volleyball you can, kickball, softball, dodgeball, football. like I said plenty of grassed area to do plenty of events. the hidden gym parks in El Paso...

Wow! That's all I have to say. We discovered this park through some friends a few weeks back and my kids ask every day if we can go. There is something for everyone at the park and I love that it keeps us engaged and moving as a family. This will continue to be our go to spot for FREE fun in El Paso.
