Elizabeth Fitness Club — Attraction in Elizabeth

This review is for the gym that is located at 12 Centre St in Elizabeth. If I could give this gym zero stars, i would. It seemed pretty convenient because it’s so close to home but as time passed I started to see how bad of a gym it is. For starters, their equipment is really old. There’s at least 2-3 machines out of order on a weekly basis. Since it’s located in a crowded community, it gets really full. It is not a clean gym. Expect to go to the women’s bathroom and not find hand soap or paper towels. I wanted to take a shower so many times but that’s almost impossible to do since they have curtains instead of doors for the showers. These curtains open with the slightest gust of wind. The staff is unprofessional with the exception of Claudia who I believe is the AM supervisor. She’s really nice. The manager, Mike, is very rude. If you have any complaints, don’t bother talking to him as he will dismiss your concerns. His solution to everything is to ask if you would like to cancel your membership. The training system they have is a joke. They want to charge $40-$45 dollar sessions with a trainer who does the bare minimum. You’re better off just looking of YouTube videos and training yourself. The ventilation system in this gym is horrible. It gets so humid in the summer and the smell is unbearable. They also do not have on site parking. No lo recomiendo. Tratan de extenderte el tiempo desde que pides cancelar tu subscripcion con el objetivo de cobrarte mas. Te ponen trabas a la hora de querer irte, te cobran cargos de mas. Verifiquen comentarios anteriores, no es posible que mi opinion no sea muy distinta a otras. Les cuento mi historia en este gimnasio. Hace como dos meses comence a decirles que queria cancelar la suscripcion. 1-Me decian que el horario para cancelar tenia que ser de 8 am a 5 pm, solo de lunes a viernes. 2-Por cuestiones personales, me era dificil estar en ese horario, una vez llegue a las 4.30 PM y me dijeron que a esa hora no podian hacerlo porque la oficina donde tenian que llamar para cancelar estaba a punto de cerrar y ya no daba tiempo. 3-Fui luego y me atendio un muchacho y me dijo que la persona responsable de cancelar no estaba y no venia ese dia. Le explique lo anterior y me estaba haciendo preguntas personales que el gim cerraba a las 8 pm, que podia hacer ejercicios los fines de semana, que que tiempo me demoraba del trabajo a la casa....en fin cosas que no vienen al caso. 4-Finalmente el dia dia 5 de septiembre de 2023 me dirigi al gimnasio para cancelar y desde que estaba entrando por puerta, el muchacho, de pelo largo me dijo que no podia cancelar siendo a penas las 5.10 pm pues estaba fuera de horario. Hable con el explicandole que necesitaba cancelar y que queria ver a alguien superior y me dijo que el solo cumplia leyes y que los superiores no hablaban ni se relacionaban con los clientes. Una vez mas me puso trabas y tuve que pagar ese mes puesto que el dia 7 de septiembre se me vencia el pago por eso fui antes. 5-El dia 6 de septiembre fui a pagar la mesualidad y les pedi que me cancelaran, pero queria que le pagara la mantencion(alrededor de 45 - 47 dolares). Les pregunto el porque si yo les estaba pidiendo desde hacia dos meses que me cancelara. Me dijo que para el cancelarme tenia que pagarle el mantenimiento. 6-El viernes me dirijo al gimnasio y me atiene una muchacha, que no es la delgada, y me trata muy amable y muy tratable, me dio todas las explicaciones que nececitaba yo para cancelar, pero me dice que le tengo que pagar 93 dolares. Le pregunto el porque diciendole que el dia anterior el muchacho del pelo largo solo me habian dicho que solo era el mantenimiento que tenia que pagar. Ella me dice que va a consultar con el, al hacerlo me dice que solo seria 72 dolares, proque como habia pasado un dia del pago, tenia que pagar otro mes mas sumando al mantenimiento. Me di cuenta ahi que ellos no tienen que consultar a nadie para cancelar ninguna susbcripcion. ASI LO HICE, LE PAGUE 72 DOLARES Y ASI FUE COMO PUDE CANCELAR. Mi opinion sobre este gimnasio es que verigiquen sus cuentas y cargos, y esten muy claros a la hora de incribirse como es el mecanismo para poder suscribirse, y lean las opiniones anteriores para que vean que no soy la unica que me encuentro en esta situacion. I QUIT This place. IT stinks , humid, they are NOT CLEAN. THEY'RE OVER PRICED FOR VERY LITTLE. THEY SAY $20 FOR UNLIMITED BUT CHARGE YOU $27. THEIR EQUIPMENT USUALLY IS BROKEN YOU CANT GET A COMPLETE WORKOUT. NOONE THERE TO HELP OR INTRODUCE YOU TO THE EQUIPMENT.
