Absolutely loved the wedding that we shot here in 2021. The Wellfield Botanic Garden was the ceremony location and it was beautiful. There were so many options for photos - from ivy walls to large florals and a pavilion. Although it was an extremely hot day, the couple opted to do all pre-ceremony photos out in the garden and I am so glad that they did (and I’m sure they were too!) The ceremony was held on the lawn and all of the backdrops in our photos were great. The space was able to accommodate the guest count of over 150. After the ceremony, we did couple portraits around the garden and we were able to capture unique shots from pre-ceremony pictures - all on the property - because the gardens had that many options. We headed about a mile across town and had the reception at the Lerner Crystal Ballroom. The ballroom was large and, although we did not take many pictures on the outside of the building, there was a lot of potential for getting a city feel for sunset.

I can't say enough great things about this place. It's obvious they are passionate about what they do, and their attention to detail shows. The grounds are well kept, and they have interactive exhibits. The strawberries were so delicious, I might have had a full serving of fruit right there. So, healthy too, and, with walking being some of the best exercise, you can have a little workout while taking in the beauty of the gardens. I was impressed by the natural stonework and masonry, and it's obvious a lot of thought went into the exhibits. The wind chimes and mobiles were lovely, and there were plenty of spots to sit and relax. Some areas are highly maintained, while others have a more wild feel. Yoga classes, and concerts occur on a regular basis during the summer, and improvements are constantly being made. They also sell plants, indiginous to the area, at more than reasonable rates. I look forward to returning in the near future.

Loved, loved, loved this place. We we're lucky enough to find the McDonald's play area up the road closed for renovations, otherwise we'd never have looked for an alternative for the kids to get their energy out. The park is free to meander and closes at 7pm. The gigantic wind chimes hanging from the trees along with with geese, swans and ducks hanging around bring a tranquil feeling to this place. I loved the painted elk statues as you walk into the park and all the beautiful Bridges, gazebos and pergolas. This would be a fantastic place to take professional photos for a number of occasions. Two places were under construction to add to the beauty of the park. One was a children's discovery park. I'm excited for it to be finished so I can take my kids next time we travel through Indiana. We spent 2 hours here without knowing it. What a beautiful stop. Highly recommended.

Wellfield Botanic Garden is a remarkable creation of highly skilled landscape architects. What was water, tall pasture type grass and trees has been transformed into waterfalls, stepping stones across a stream, rocky textural hills and colorful plantings that delight the eye at every turn. If you stop on the arch of a bridge in front of the S-shaped waterfall, you will lift your eyes to gaze at the length of the large pond which is the background for much of the garden, reflecting the sky and flanked by trees, shrubs, flowers, sculptures and small tasteful structures that enhance the imagination. I found it hard to tear my eyes away from the scene in front of me, and move on. The children's garden has masses of wildflowers, its own tiny outside theater and more. Adults will find it appealing, too.

I would like to say that this place is absolutely beautiful the lights are fantastic however even though it says on their website for people to respect other people's need for distancing and the right to wear masks or not we were the only two there with our masks on little children running up to us coughing and carrying on people walking so close to us we actually did walk off the path in order to do the distancing that we needed fully vaccinated is three shots not two according to the CDC. Please have people situated around the park to do the distancing and remind people to stay 6 ft away from others that are not in their group it would be helpful for all of us to have a safe holiday season.

Gorgeous urban oasis. This is a great place to go for a stroll, appreciate the awesome beauty of nature and really feel like you've gotten away (but you're still in the middle of a city). There are many places to sit for a bit. They have great events, and there are few things better than enjoying one of their Thursday night concerts in the summer. UPDATE: As of summer 2024, there is major construction in a new visitor center and event pavilion. It will be fabulous, but for now the parking and entrance is moderately impacted. The gardens themselves are more gorgeous than ever.
