Went for the Rhapsody in green Festival. They did not used to charge to get in now they charge $2 per adult. Children were free because my children were five in one. There was not the activities for the children that they said they had there was really nothing to do except walk around and look at cops and gangster thugs all day. I had just text my daughter she said she wanted to come I said there was nothing but cops and thugs there. I left the park I only went one time around it they did not even have the good stands for selling nice things like they used to. My daughter came we must have just passed each other because I had already text her told her I left the park and there was a big fight at the food court and I had just barely left the food court when I was texting her the first time. This will be my last time going it's not worth it. What they do need to do is bring back the carnival like they used to have on Main Street in Elkhart or maybe the races that they used to have in Elkhart... Elkhart sucks!!! There is nothing to do here for kids nothing you took out everything that there was four children you can't even sit in McDonald's in the front anymore on picnic tables on Main Street I don't care about the homeless people what are they doing sitting there nothing they bought a coffee and they're sitting there enjoying it who cares point is you took everything away from everybody and then you took out cruising years ago and now you're trying to bring it back hahaha what a laugh gas $3 per gallon forget you you people are so stupid you killed off the pigeons they were there for a purpose what a bunch of idiots...
Read moreThis is a nice park that I always considered the main park of Elkhart. It's located in the center of the city and at one time was the host of many large events for the parks department (the past few years many events have moved down the river walk to Central Park). These days the park has a few pavilions that I never see used and a small but decent playground. The two biggest problems with this park are that it floods whenever it rains during the summer and the exorbitant amount of geese on the island. The geese are mean and many have nests along the coasts of the island. We took our kids walking during the summer and literally had to run from the geese to keep them from attacking. As for today, we attended the city sponsored trick or treating and they must have shooed off the geese because they weren't a problem. As for my overall summary of this park, this is a cool, small park that would be awesome if it didn't have a...
Read moreThis park is a treasure. I played and swam here as a child, ages 6 & up. I wouldn't advise swimming now. I then as an adult enjoyed the park with my children as they grew. Now I enjoy long boarding the bridges and paths. Very tranquil. Be aware:. The geese have there way in the park and leaves the paths full of feces. Other than that, the park doesn't have many drawbacks. In the spring the city hold a festival known as Rhapsody in Green here. Live music, music food vendors and trinket shopping. Nice park be careful after dark. As the city grows the parks have homeless people seeking refuge. I e never had an altercation here but plz be aware the people in poverty use the...
