Solar Nail & Spa — Attraction in Elyria

I would leave zero stars if that was a possibility. I went in for dip on my natural nails and a pedicure. I needed 2 tips on both of my pinky’s since my natural nails had broke. The technician I went to see told me she doesn’t do tips but would have someone else in the salon put on tips for me and she would take care of the rest. I thought that was weird and never experienced that before and I’ve had dip done several times at other salons. Usually it’s a matter of prepping the nail properly, gluing the tip on and buffing it out as a natural nail and then do the dip the same as the other nails. Why don’t you do tips? But okay, I brushed it off as this is not my profession and I can only go based off my experiences in the past with this service. Well the technician (who I think is the owner) that did the tips proceeded to put multiple layers of clear dip on those. She did not shape them or do anything else before or after that. Again, I brushed it off and trusted that the other technician would do what needed to be done to make them all match and look the same. That’s not what happened. Not only did she not properly prep any of my nails she did no shaping either. She then did the dip of choice over all the nails meaning the pinky’s that got the clear dip were already bulky and huge got more layers of dip, totaling out to about 6 layers of dip on just the pinky’s. The technician was having issues with her drill and she was struggling with getting it to work correctly. She then started to use the drill on my nails and it was extremely painful. She asked if it hurt and I said yeah, something feels wrong bc usually this doesn’t hurt and isn’t supposed to hurt. She brushed it off and quickly ran the drill over all my nails. Even in doing this, no shaping or real work was done. At first glance the nails without the tips looked okay but up close you could see tons of imperfections and major filing errors. The pinky’s looked so different and inconsistent with the rest of the nails. It’s literally been a week and there’s dirt collecting on the side of my nails where the dip is lifting because my nails were NOT properly prepped. I’m so disappointed. These technicians have years of experience and running a salon yet my nails show otherwise. This was not worth the money. I left there unhappy and upset and even though I didn’t want to I still tipped her because that’s what you do. I won’t be returning and I will not recommend this salon to anyone. I have a lot more I can say, but I will refrain and only talk about the worst part which was this. Included are pictures from right after the service and also 10 days after with dirt trapped. Honestly one of the worst nail salons I've ever been to. I called before going in and asked if they did Gel X. They said yes. When I got there, it was clear that the man doing my nails had absolutely no idea what he was doing. It took OVER TWO HOURS to do just my nails. Not only are there bumps in my nails from the Gel X curing into my skin, but all of my nails are different sizing and shapes. Once I got home, I realized just how horrible they looked so I called and asked for a refund. They were not able to give me one. I am in my best friend's wedding tomorrow and my nails look horrible. Visited Solar Nails for the first time with my niece this weekend. We had an appointment scheduled and they were ready for us as soon as we got there. The chairs were comfortable for our pedicures and they had a large polish selection. All of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating for us.
