Best karting experience in the Emerald Isle area. I kart, a lot, and I always find rental kart places when I travel. Of the 3 karting facilities in the area, this is the only one that you can actually race a kart at - the other two are so slow that it's really just driving around.
Karts are relatively clean and in decent condition. They work like they should and they are tuned to go fast. Also, the karts all seem to be very equally tuned, which is a HUGE thing - nothing worse than being stuck with one of the "slow" karts, and these are all pretty equal.
The track is bumpy in a few places, but it's wide and challenging, with good variation in corners, and it's long for a rental kart track. It's fun to drive and it encourages real racing, which makes it a lot of fun with the karts going this fast.
Rides are 9 minutes long. They have full size karts, cadet karts for smaller kids, and double karts. Track staff is super nice and they run the track reasonably efficiently.
Facility as a whole is a no nonsense karting place. No mini golf, bumper boats, or anything else - aside than a bouncy house (for kids too young to drive/ride), and some arcade games in the waiting area. No public bathrooms (which is a BIG problem on the island), but there's a place within a 5 minute walk down the street that you can find one. They sell bottled drinks for a couple of bucks. Plenty of parking spots right at the front, with more spots lining the street.
Definitely a MUST DO if you're into karting and will be visiting...
Read moreVery, very pleased with the whole experience at this track. The cars seemed fast and well maintained, the track was fun, you can slide around a little, sometimes even spin out if you're not careful. It's a great track and setup all around for anyone, all ages. If you're too small to drive, they have cars you can ride in with someone taller.
What's really surprising is that it's run and owned by a young 21 year old who was extremely kind, courteous, professional, accommodating and just a genuinely great person overall. I was really impressed with this kid and his demeanor, and I wish more people strived to run a business like he does. There's no doubt in my mind this will be a great track for years to come as long as he's in charge. His staff was also young, but very courteous and professional.
No need to bother with any other go kart tracks around, these guys will treat you right and you'll have a lot of fun for at very reasonable prices. If you decide to do two races, you can get discounted pricing on the 2nd one which is great. I could hardly believe how many laps we got and how much time we were able to...
Read moreI took my biologic and adopted son to ride go carts tonight. They had friends with them - one white and one half white and Hispanic. My adopted son is also half white and Hispanic. The woman at the cash register and her “boss” were total racists. My Hispanic son was tall enough to ride but the cash register hustlers played a game of 20 questions with him until I jumped in. When I called out their obvious racism, they kicked us out. I wonder if other posts about kids, who were big enough to ride being written off, were by parents of non-white kids. The place is so bad off financially that they can’t even accept a bank or credit card. Or maybe the cash register bosses like it that way because it’s easier to embezzle cash. I don’t know who owns this racist business, but I hope all people with a grain of humanity will avoid this Klan rally. I told the greasy old cash register man-boss that he should build a wall around his white-only...
