Paramahansa Yogananda has fully electrified Encinitas with the powerful transmission of his life, lived and loved here! How incredibly fortunate to have his seaside Hermitage, temple and living Dharmic activity alive and thriving here! His disciples and devotees are carrying on his work and legacy beautifully, you will feel the friendly warmth and sincerity in the spiritual atmosphere, and wisdom teachings. You can walk the gorgeous gardens and sit by the ancient koi fish, and feel very far away, like a small Eden. They also have numerous activity throughout the week, and of course wonderful Sunday services. For those wondering, the main essence of the teachings are to learn how to directly connect and plug into God consciousness through spiritually scientific practices, using the divine faculties of your brain, spine and breath. The current to...

In this world of hectic school/work schedules, family obligations and the endless barrage of news, it seems we're not able to slow down and focus on the real meaning of life. Sometimes we get to point and ask ourselves, "why am I here? Or "what is the purpose of my life?" If you are looking to find some peace in daily life, you can learn how to meditate, quieting the restless thoughts and tapping into the bounty of calm.... Visit the Meditation Gardens to enjoy the majestic views of the ocean, or stop in at the J Street Chapel for a meditation any day of the week or attend a Thursday or Sunday inspirational service at the main Temple location on Second Street, all in downtown Encinitas. Learn how to take back your life, gaining the balance of Body,...

I have learned so much about how to live in the short 4 yrs I have been going to this temple. Not only will you learn the scientific techniques of mediation (the right way to mediate!), but you will hear stories of life, and adventure, and failure, and loss, and wisdom, and most of all you will feel at ease for the hour you sit there. Total peace can wash over you in a place like this. Every Sunday morning at 9:30am I have the chance to listen to a FREE talk that is inspiring and uplifting and filled with bits of wisdom. At SRF you are reminded you are a soul living in a moving picture. And...

“🌴✨ (Episode 1 of my San Diego series!) Exploring the charming streets of Encinitas, where the eats are delish and the shops are one of a kind. 🛍️🍽️ Plus, it’s a pup paradise out here! 🐾 Did you know Encinitas is a hidden gem on the Cali coast known for its surf spots and stunning botanical gardens? 🌊🌿 It’s also where you can treat your taste buds and your pup to a day out! 🍽️🐾 I encourage you to dive into the Encinitas vibe and tell me, what’s your favorite local spot or secret hangout here? ☀️💦 Why go to Encinitas? 1. **Surfing Legacy**: Encinitas is often referred to as one of the best surfing towns in the world, home to iconic spots like Swami’s, which was famously mentioned in the Beach Boys’ song “Surfin’ USA.” 2. **Botanical Beauty**: It hosts the San Diego Botanic Garden, which features nearly 37 acres of exhibits, including rare bamboo groves, desert gardens, and a tropical rainforest. 3. **Historical Highway**: Historic Highway 101 runs through the city, lined with quirky shops, cozy cafes, and surf shops, encapsulating the classic beach town vibe. 4. **Spiritual Sanctuary**: The Self-Realization Fellowship Temple, founded by Paramahansa Yogananda, offers meditation gardens that are open to the public, providing stunning views and a peaceful retreat. 5. **Flower Power**: Encinitas wears the crown as the “Flower Capital of the World” with its extensive flower fields and nurseries, which contribute to the area’s vibrant local agriculture. 6. **Cultural Festivals**: The city celebrates its heritage and community with events like the April Street Fair and the Fall Festival, which attract visitors from all over for music, food, and crafts. #ExploreEncinitas #LocalSecrets #DogFriendlyEncinitas #EatShopLove #sandiego #visitsandiego #visitcalifornia #encinitaslife #citygirltravel #sandiegolife

This garden is a nice little place to stop off the beaten path. There’s a steady flow of people walking through so it’s busy. Some people find a way to meditate here but I don’t think I could. It is nice to find a spot to sit and watch the sunset though I enjoyed that.
