My experience at this hotel was beyond sub par. From cigarrette smoke rising from smoking rooms to my second story non smoking which made me so nauseaus (it was strong). And the dismissive staff said, (of course) "we dont know what it is since we've never heard of this before. Lie. I had read a previous review stating the same and so I mentioned it to Days In staff. Without even blinking, Josh said "you cant go by that, That could just be someone who smoked in the room and didnt want to get billed." SO if it happens to you, too, let me assure you two things: I do not smoke and was never billed as such.
From failing AC's to disgusting carpet to fire alarms for THREE DAYS (oh, yes! Fire dept and all...because the hotel is so old. The GM is as slack as one can be and clearly does not know how to run a hotel. He also refused to follow up multiple times blaming it on his staff for not giving him the messages. Speaking of messages, I had a blinking msg light on the phone which could not be accessed, (phone was malfunctioning) and whrn I told Josh I couldnt get the message, he said, "ah, it's probably nothing." It was something. I had a package waiting for me for days that Raven had been trying to message me about. If Josh wasn't so lazy, he'd have actually done his job and checked the book...where he'd have found that my package was waiting. The dude's work ethics are lame.
Indeed, Josh and George are rude, juvenile and dismissive. Josh does the least amount of work he can literally get away with and acts like he just woke up all the time. In other words, his demeanor reflects complete abhorrence for his job. The only time I ever saw him even smile was when, on the clock, he was playing on the computer and goofing off. George crossed lines that deserve termination accusing me of making up info when I gave him the name of another guest, a coach, who witnessed the same loud running and banging that I kept me up ALL NIGHT. His attitude is crinchworthy, at best. And I am reporting him to corporate for treating -anyone- that way.
From phones not working to maintenance staff drilling in the evenings (after three the days of fire alarms and having to be gone) to loud walk ways to housekeeping laundry going until 11:30 pm making such loud noise and George dismissively saying, "well, they'll be done in a few minutes." (Again, no professionalism, instead responding like a high schooler might).
This place is old, worn down and with slack staff (with the exception of Raven and a couple of other employees) and the noise level alone warrants saving your time and getting a good night's rest at a place with a higher...
Read moreWe booked the hotel for 5 days, and at least 3 days, from Tuesday to Sunday, the guests above us made a lot of noise- it sounded like somebody threw the heavy boll on the floor, but as I understood later, there were children who were running back and forth and stomped so hard that the ceiling literally shook. There were 2 employees on the front desk who switched each other, and all Friday and Saturday (at least 5 times) I asked both of them to do something with noise- first time I was told that they will speak with these guests, but the next time when the noise didn’t stop and I went downstairs to ask the employee what’s going on, I was told that guests don’t open the door and don’t answer the phone and I can try to speak with them by myself - it’s really wonderful, isn’t it? - especially considering that the guests made a noise at nighttime as well and just didn’t let me to sleep properly. After several more attempts to talk to the staff and convince them to do something with noise, at least give me a new room, I was promised (it was Saturdays night) that they will go to the guests’s room and open the door by their key if the noise wouldn’t stop. Of course, It happened again. On Sunday’s morning I told to the employee that it’s impossible for me to tolerate this anymore, and she came to the guest’s room and finally spoke with them. When she came back to my room, she told me that the guests are checking out, and when I asked her what they said, instead of answering me she asked me do I have kids. Excuse me, but why the hell did she ask me this question? What does this have to do with other’s people children disturbing others guests? Instead of asking these people why they didn’t open the door when she knocked and then called them, she asking me a personal question and it seemed like it should be excuse for these people to act so carelessly towards other guests only because they have kids. Dear staff, children are first and foremost a responsibility and not an excuse for a careless attitude towards to other people. This is your direct responsibility to give people the right to peace once they pay you. Thanks for running my vacation! P.S . There is always a problem with electronic keys, they just don’t open the door, you have to...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE Worst roach infestation ive ever seen. I booked for two nights and had to leave at 4 in the morning on my first night because the roach problem was so bad. Also, the owner will NOT give you your money back, even if you have to gather your stuff and leave at 4am and sleep in your car at a rest stop halfway through your first night. I couldn't even stay for 4 hours without being bitten or crawled on by bugs. The first thing youre gonna see if you book this place is probably 5 or more roaches just chilling in plain sight in the bathroom or main bedroom. The roach infestation was so bad we had to plug up any holes in the walls or ceiling to stop them from coming in. On top of that, this hotel literally has bed bugs and flat out refuses to do anything about it. Book this place and youll see white dust all around the bed frame and the owner was not willing to do anything about the infestation nor were they willing to give me a refund on the 200 dollars i spent on the two nights i was physically unable to spend there due to the infestation. On top of it all, the Wyndham Days inn in encinitas could not care less if you bring bed bugs to your home after staying there for only 5 hours. Attached below are screenshots i had to take from a video recorded shortly before leaving as proof the problem was as bad as i say it is. In those pictures, youll see two baby cockroaches coming out of an alarm clock they had in the rooms. There were roaches coming out of everything small enough for the babies to crawl through, and they still will not give me my money back despite not even staying a single night of the two i booked. Every customer service representative ive spoken to will not do anything about refunds, so just skip the trouble and keep driving if you ever contemplate staying here. DO NOT STAY AT THE ENCINITAS DAYS INN. Entire company should be ashamed of themselves, there needs to be some kind of health inspector to ensure hotels like this...
