Moonlight Beach — Attraction in Encinitas

Visited July 7-8, 2025 This beach is beautiful. It’s in Encinitas. There is plenty if parking but most arrive early for availability. We most relaxed and sunbathed. Stuck our ‘toes’ in the water which was cold but you’d adapt as you waded into the water. Clean beach too but the public bathrooms…well, public bathrooms. We also had the opportunity to play 2-on-2 volleyball. That was fun! We’ve always wanted to play in California! There are vendors for food. Lifeguard stations and first aid available. Family favorite beach! Beach has a playground and some decent restrooms. My favorite is that it has a snack bar and a little store next to the snack bar with things you might forget to bring to the beach. Great picnic area and fire pits. Not a great dog friendly beach. Free parking, lifeguards a plenty, outside showers, snack bar and grill, rentals, BBQ, and a playground! And the biggest plus!? No rocks, just sand, seaweed, good waves and sand crabs!
