I recently spent an afternoon at Cougar Creek Park in Las Vegas and it turned out to be a fantastic outing for my kids and me. The park is spacious, well-designed, and truly family-friendly. What stood out:
The playground areas are excellent—with separate zones and equipment that cater to both younger and older kids. One section has traditional slides and stepping platforms for the little ones, while another offers climbing nets, rock-play structures and zip-line style fun for bigger kids. The splash pad is a huge bonus on a warm Vegas day. There are water jets, fountains and “river” style features built into the landscape—perfect for cooling off.
Plenty of nice places to sit and relax while the kids play. There are picnic tables under some shade, grassy open spaces, and paved walkways so you can keep a good view of everything while grabbing a snack or just chilling.
Easy to access and comfortable for families: restrooms, walking paths, open lawns for running around, and even pickleball courts (for the adults who secretly want to play too!)
Overall impression: If you’re looking for a spot in the Las Vegas area where kids will have a blast and you’ll have some relaxing space to sit back, Cougar Creek Park is a top choice. It balances fun and convenience really well. I’d definitely recommend bringing a picnic blanket, some water bottles, and letting your kids burn off energy while you enjoy a comfortable...
Read moreThis brand new park sports some cool playgrounds for the kids. The splashpad will definitely be a hit once the Vegas heats starts coming back soon. There's a workout area for the adults. There's a some brand new grass area which is always great for any park. Finally, there's a small jogging trail that goes around the park which reviews claims it's 1/2 mile.
I'm mainly reviewing on the two brand new Pickleball courts that were built here. The surface is immaculate and the night lighting is bright and smartly designed. You don't have to worry about looking into the light if a ball is lobbed at you while you're closing in the net. (kitchen area) What I really appreciate is the fact that there's a fence divider between the two courts. This helps prevent stray balls from interrupting your game and it's something every pickleball player will appreciate.
As pickleball continues to grow in popularity, these courts will get more and more popular as their brand new. See...
Read moreThis park is very cool. The splash pad is great, it has a little area for kids to play if they don't want to be sprayed with water all the time.
Two different sized play areas and a nice Simon style light up game. Random climbing areas and mini zip line swing (if that's what it's supposed to be called). The seat gets hot, if your kid is in shorts be sure to put a towel or something down.
The only downside of the park is in the afternoons. The unsupervised kids (maybe middle schoolers) swearing, throwing things and running around with sharp pencils ✏️ (no joke) makes it hard for little ones to play. My daughter got scared on a few occasions.
I think I'll only go during the day to avoid the...
