Center Stage for Performing Arts — Attraction in Eureka Springs

Center Stage Event Venue is a nice facility for stage performances and probably a wide range of other events. Seating and visibility were good for the stage performance presented by the 5 & Dime Drama Collective, 7PM, Saturday, November 11th. On this evening the theater was configured with three stages: what appeared to be a permanent center stage and smaller temporary stages on the left and right. My following comments are about the Drama Collective's presentation titled SHIFT, consisting of 6 short plays. If I were rating SHIFT I'd give it 1 or 2 stars. Supposed to start at 7PM, the first play began about 40 minutes late due to an earlier event running late, then they had continuing sound problems with microphones "cutting in and out". This being said, the excessive self-flattering introductions preceeding the first play raised performance/script expectations and did not work to 5 & Dimes advantage. The plays were surprisingly weak and seemed to miss easy opportunities to make their brief stories more poignant, meaningful, and richer. The program stated there would be a 10 minute intermission after the 3rd play. When intermission was announced it turned out to be 30 minutes. For us, it wasn't worth the time. We left. We didn't see the final 3 plays. I've enjoyed many dozens of small stage/community productions. I've never left...

This venue is deceiving from the outside. Once you're inside, it's a different story. Nice big entry way. Two separate entrances into the event space. My first impression was a good one. They did a fantastic job in decorating the venue. Classy, elegant yet simple. The bridal suite is cute, but the bed downstairs had me puzzled. A little stuffy upstairs. Especially on a hot, muggy day. My concern is this; As quaint as it may be, there were challenges when it came to having young people, with tons of energy, in this event space. Areas of concern due to electrical wiring, musical equipment and a stage. All of which could pose a danger to children or equipment. My suggestion is this. Install gates to prevent children from gaining access to these areas after they are no longer a part of the event taking place. This way everyone and every area is safe. Please know this, the entire event space was decorated beautifully. I absolutely loved it. I wasn't that impressed with the food. But I can't speak...

Center Stage Event Venue has it ALL!! Due to COVID-19 we were unable to get married in April 2020 like we planned. Center Stage was so understanding and willing to do whatever we wanted, refund our money or reschedule. They were so kind and understanding which meant so much to us during this stressful time trying to determine what we wanted to do. Prior to our wedding date we visited the venue a couples of times and were so pleased. It is a wonderful venue for a ceremony and reception..they are truly a one stop shop. They have so many beautiful linens and decorations they take all the worry away by having everything you would need there!!!
