My son takes swim lessons here, I like that it is an indoor facility, and the staff are friendly... it pretty much stops here though... in the summer it is sweltering hot in the pool area, and in the winter, it is freezing! The locker rooms are even colder than on the pool deck, my childs lips are blue and he is shaking as if we are outside and I have to bring a heavy coat, for indoors! The pool deck is not very clean, I have had to bring staff over to show them a family of cockroaches on the pool deck, and they were not at all surprised and just squashed them in front of me and moved on, yuck! The roaches were along the windowsills on the outer edge of the pool area, not near the water, so I didn't feel the need to pull my child from the water, but i do keep my eyes peeled for them now, after one ran across my foot while sitting in a chair watching lessons! I keep our bags on my lap, I don't want to bring any critters home. Other than that, I want to love this place more, my son loves lessons here and it is more affordable for us than other pools. They seem to be short on instructors for swim lessons also, in the summer they sell out and I am unable to get him any evening classes, so here we are in the winter , trying to catch up! I hope this coming summer , they will have more staff available to open...
Read moreLove the water park at Witt Park! We didn't even get into the enclosed pool area where I've heard there is a lap swim pool, a lazy river and a diving pool. My kids also weren't tall enough (48") for the two "big" slides but they LOVED the little kid splash & slide area. It is a walk in pool that at its deepest is only about a foot deep so they didn't need their floaties and we didn't have to be right next to them (we didn't walk away we stood/sat at the edge and watched them). There are dumping buckets and small water slides and just a ton of fun. Everyone has to pay to get in. I think you can bring food because I saw coolers. There are picnic tables under some shade canopies. The girls locker room is clean and nice and you can bring your own lock to lock up valuables. There is a little snack bar but it is overpriced. I also think they do memberships which we are considering....
Read moreMy family has been going to Allen Witt twice a year for the past 4-years. We really like the location next to the freeway which makes access easy. There are plenty of table groupings for our family of gatherings of 15-30 people. They also have a playgroung and aquatic park. The bathrooms are pretty well maintained and I have never witnessed people getting overly-intoxicated and acting out.
The big downsides are the groups of scary looking men who cluster at the park near the playground and in other areas. These guys are always in groups watching the families. We have also never noticed any security or police patrols going by. Although we have never been approached, we do not feel comfortable letting our children wander on the playground by themselves. So even though we typically have the tables next to the playground we still feel the need to be on the playground with...
