A recent trip to the store left me with a fond appreciation of my encounter with Joseph, a supervisor - worker in the lumber department. I am somewhat disabled not able to walk far distances or stand long periods of time when I entered the store I immediately went to customer service asking if they were able to accommodate my needs at the time and she without a skip to that replied they most definitely would be able to do that and would I like a regular cart or one of the bigger push carts which she went and got for me because they were outside. She had me wait in aisle 17 while she called somebody to meet me there.
What I requested when I first arrived was the following; I stated that I know items that I want in lumber but that I would need them cut as well (I had the exact items readily accessible on my phone) I also needed concrete which she advised they would also be able to help with.
Joseph found me in aisle 17 I found him to be very pleasant , cheerful, attentive to my needs, gathered up the various items I needed before heading to the saw to make some cuts. He measured the pieces marking them of course before cutting them and loading them back onto the push cart. I asked if he would mind taking it to the front for me which he cheerfully said that he would. I asked him if he could put it in the car too said with a chuckle and followed it with I am asking too much of you.
We shared some chit chat along the way as well- customer service past/present not just here as well as subjects regarding my DIY projects and what I was making with the lumber.
He said not at all and if there was a long line he would not be able to assist to the car however if there wasn't he definitely would. He waited while the cashier completed my transaction and then we walked to my car where he loaded it for me and we parted ways with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't usually post reviews , however today was unbelievably bad the customer service from a worker there. I have a bed frame that needed a couple screws, nuts, washers and little wooden peg things. Now I have no idea where to even begin looking for an exact match. So I brought with me the existing ones that needed replaced. I went to the nuts and bolts aisle. While 2 employees were talking to a customer, I waited patiently until I could get one of there attention. An older gentleman, balding with a little bit of white hair left on the sides, who a had an accent from out of the country. I just don't know exactly. I showed him what I had. He made a comment saying what is all this crap your handing me. Looked at the wooden pegs and said I'm not going to help you find those, and then pointed around the corner to where I could find them. He proceeds to help me with the finding the 2 different screws and a nut and washer for one of the screws. He's complaining that he was supposed to go to lunch, he was cursing. It was unbelievable . I expect this behavior from a 20 year old not a 60 something year old man. So he passed the buck onto a lady employee because his lunch must've been getting cold. The lady was nice enough and did her best. What I ended up going home without didn't work at all. So I went right back and figured it out myself. I just can't believe how much he made me feel like I was totally annoying, and embarrassed me when I showed him what I needed by making the comment what's all the crap in your hands. I live right behind home depot so im there all the time. I'm going to think twice now, I'd rather drive a little further and have one of the nice pleasant men I have found at...
