One would think that a children's theatre camp that is putting on a show of just singing and dancing would be focused on the process and not the product. The Director of this Children's theatre has no business working with children. We paid over $500 for my daughter to attend this camp. She is 7. It was a Broadway show with just singing and dancing. No auditions necessary. She was practicing the words to "This is Me" when we were in the car or at home. It was one of her numbers. We rented the Greatest Showman where the song came from. She was sooooo excited and would sing this song daily. When this number came on and it was suppose to have ALL the kids in it, she was no where to be found. She did come out and perform in her final number. When I asked the head lady in charge why my daughter was not in the number of This is Me, I was told that they that when it came to practice she wouldn't always sing, so they pulled her from the number. They pulled her and one other boy. They were not misbehaving, they simply didn't participate the whole time. She told me that they often pull kids from numbers if they don't participate. They sat backstage while the rest of the camp performed the number. No one notified me ahead of time to tell me my child was not participating at camp. There is no policy that states they will remove children from numbers unless it was due to lack of attendance. My daughter was there every day except day three where we went to her Great Grandmother's funeral. My daughter came out sobbing after the show. She was told she didn't know the words to the song and they would not let her on. I saw several kids through out the show that weren't singing. Would my child sitting on the stairs with the other kids not singing ruin the whole show? I doubt it. My daughter sang the song to me on the way home with no music. She knew all the words. She's a day dreamer and probably got lost in her head during practice. I'm really wondering what they would have done if they had a child with Asperger's? Would they have pulled that child from numbers if they didn't sing? Why wasn't I not notified? On top of it all they also had a slide show showing each kids head shot. My kid was there they day of the photos and her photo was not shown. I was told it would be added to the $20 video that I could purchase. I also would like to mention that there was a dance to one of the songs where two groups were performing. They put all the big kids in the front and all the small 5 and 6 year olds who were short and not as good at the dancing in the back. You couldn't even see some of them. This is not a children camp. This is a show off production for the teachers and directors. Theatre camps for kids that are not big play productions should be fun and an a learning experience. It should be about the process and not the product. EVERY kid should be included in their group numbers and all kid numbers. Even if they are not the best at it. You work with them. You don't ostracize children and make them feel worthless and small., My child no longer wants anything to do with this sort of hobby. I'm devastated. Don't waste your money. Check out the Suisun Theatre camp or something else. These people shouldn't be working...
Read moreVery good, small theater. We sat in the front row of the balcony in the center for a concert... very good choice. The railing for the balcony did not obstruct our view. People say that there's not a bad seat in the house, and the theater is small enough that I'm sure that's true. The seats are fairly nice though we were getting a bit uncomfortable after sitting in them for two hours. Parking is very easy, even on a Saturday night... it is behind the theater and free. We arrived 15 minutes before the show started, which gave us plenty of time to get will call tickets. I'm glad we didn't arrive any earlier, especially since they started the show 5 minutes late. Though it's not the nicest theater in the world, the tickets were very reasonably priced and I think it deserves 5 stars for the value provided. If I came back, I'd get balcony seats again, but I'd get up to stretch during the...
Read moreVery nice local theatre. Saw Into the Woods Jr, The Sound of Music Jr, Legally Blonde and Rocky Horror. I really enjoyed all the shows. They are also reasonably priced. Good parking space. If you are a local come support the theatre. I recommend sitting in the first floor, mainly 4 to 5 rows up. I want to mention in more detail how good the adult theatre shows has been to watch. They are funny, beautiful and professionally done. You can tell they enjoy and passionate about theatre because you cannot look away from them as every moment and scene is so captivating. I will continue to visit...
