I have been waiting for 5 star indo-pak cuisine to come to Fairfield for a long time. Amar has succeeded where so many have failed. The atmosphere, the food presentation, the service, and the taste will make you wonder if you are still in Fairfield, as you would normally have to travel to at least San Francisco, Sacramento, (or farther) to find this quality fare. I visited on the second day of their soft opening, while they were still offering just the Buffet to show people what they can look forward to when they open full scale. I have included pictures that if you expand you can see the detail of the quality of food that they are offering. The offerings that they have are truly five-star. The chefs that Amar hired for this restaurant are top notch, and very well-paid, check their resume for yourself, and you will wonder how this could be in Fairfield. It is important to note that Amar has taken the time to set the kitchen up where each Grill is used for different styles of food. Meat is cooked on one Grill, veggies on another Grill, and there would be no cross-contamination for those who might have religious or lifestyle choice restrictions for what they eat. The result is that a Muslim can eat in the same restaurant that prepares food for a Hindu, a Sikh, or Punjabi, and everyone will have their dietary restrictions and needs satisfied, which is a very difficult endeavor to attempt. The sweets table has such great offerings. The great variety of the buffet teases only a sample of the very extensive menu that is to come. I was given the privilege of seeing that menu before it has been printed, and I must say I'm looking forward to this restaurant's offerings when it is going full speed ahead. Fairfield is now on the map for fine international cusine and I encourage you to experience it for yourself.
update I originally wrote this review yesterday, and posted different pictures of the different food items that were available yesterday. You might want to swing over to YP and see the pictures that I put there too. I can now give him update that I came back the next day and they had a lot of new offerings that were really good also. Yesterday they had a mango mousse that was stunning. Today they topped that with an avocado mousse... who would have thought something like that could be a really amazing dessert? Fairfield, you are in for a shock when you see what is in store for...
Read moreI was a little hesitant about having Indian food at my wedding. But being Indian, it was expected. I am usually pretty harsh on my critique when it comes to Indian food, because I’ve eaten my mother’s cooking all my life :-) That being said, I have to give the highest, greatest compliment, that exists towards any restaurant, or catering company to Amar. We had looked at so many places, and by accident or fate. We found Amar. When we had gone in for our tasting, his food in the restaurant was amazing . He showed us the presentation that he does for dinner catering dinner service. I was blown away. I have never seen Indian food presented like that before. The bowls they used, the serving vessels, which look like they were made out of copper, and all the little touches they put in, was amazing. It really gives a shine to your wedding that you didn’t know wanted, expected, or thought about, but they did. Every guest at my wedding, said how great the food was and the presentation. That they have never seen or eaten anything like this. And this is from hard-core Punjabis and Indians. The fusion method and unique ways of cooking that they do really brings out the flavor, not only in the food, also in the visual. Everyone not only ate with their mouths, but with their eyes. If you’re planning a special occasion, this is the restaurant and catering company to go to. If you’re looking for a meal for dining for a date, a anniversary, family reunion, whatever it may be. Amar is the place. They are located in the heart of downtown Fairfield. The caliber of food you will get here is beyond San Francisco or LA Indian restaurants. This is a true hidden gem.
Go out of your way to get to this place.
Many things to Uncle, and the restaurant staff, and especially the cooks. Thank you so much for making our day so...
Read moreAmar Restaurant has once again left me in awe with its extraordinary culinary offerings. I recently revisited this gastronomic haven, and it was just as outstanding as my first experience.
The butter chicken, a true masterpiece, remains unrivaled in its category. The luscious, creamy tomato sauce continues to be a symphony of flavors that dance on the taste buds, while the chicken itself is consistently tender and succulent, confirming that this is a dish you can always count on for perfection.
The chicken curry, a personal favorite, never ceases to impress. The harmonious blend of spices creates a taste sensation that’s both bold and comforting. Each bite is a reminder of why this restaurant stands out as a haven for Indian cuisine enthusiasts.
The saag paneer, a vegetarian masterpiece, retains its place as a must-try. The spinach is cooked to a velvety consistency, and the paneer is delicately soft and beautifully complements the flavors of the dish. It’s a testament to the chef’s dedication to excellence.
And of course, the naan bread, baked to perfection, is the ideal accompaniment. It’s soft, warm, and the perfect vessel for sopping up the exquisite sauces of the main dishes.
Amar Restaurant continues to excel in every aspect, from the delectable food to the attentive service. This establishment consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning palates.
In short, Amar Restaurant remains my top choice for Indian cuisine, and I encourage anyone seeking the best butter chicken, chicken curry, saag paneer, and naan to pay them a visit – you won’t be...
