The sculptures around town by artist Bernard Langlais can be somewhat controversial. A lot of people think they are strange, crude, even ugly. The indian is no exception. Some say it's not representative of the native Americans of the area so should be taken down. Some say it's in a bad location and should be moved to a more prominent area so more people will see it. It is certainly large, a good thing since it's tucked away in the corner of a parking lot. Whether you love it or hate it, it's been a part of our town for nealy 50 years. Nothing too spectacular, sadly in a back parking lot of some businesses. Proud landmark for the locals though, with good reason, but not like a national monument or anything.
