Edit: I’d like to recognize management for truly taking customer feedback into account + going above and beyond to remedy it! I was invited back for a complimentary showing and had a much better experience. Management was very communicative + accommodating to make things better and I really appreciate a business that cares!
We would be happy to return again for another date night soon :)
was really excited about this new theatre opening up, so my fiancé and I decided to check it out for date night. Unfortunately, we ended up leaving early because of a pretty disappointing experience.
When we arrived, we waited in line to order food and drinks. Once we got to the front, the person at the register told us we needed to order from our seats using the QR code instead. While that’s a cool feature, it felt frustrating since we had just waited in line and weren’t informed about that ahead of time. I asked the person at the register if we could just order since we were already there, and they reiterated that orders had to be placed at our seats. It would’ve been helpful to have clearer signage or someone letting guests know how the process works, especially at a brand new theater where people may not be familiar with the process yet.
Besides the person at the register, we had zero interaction with staff, which felt a little odd considering there wasn’t anyone to formally check our tickets or lead us to the correct theatre. While it was easy enough to find on our own, the lack of any welcome or guidance made the experience feel impersonal and confusing.
When we got into the theater, the movie had already started so the lights were down, which made it really difficult to scan the QR code at our seats as it was too dark for our phones to detect it. We had to briefly turn on our flashlights, which felt disruptive to those around us. I feel that this could have been thought out a little better, especially if they’re going to emphasize the use of QR codes to order. Using illuminated or glow-in-the-dark QR codes for easier access in the dark could be helpful.
The final issue was our seats. We ended up in ones that had a divider wall between them, so my fiancé and I were essentially in separate little “cubbies” and couldn’t even see each other. Maybe that was a mistake on our part when booking, but the layout and seat descriptions could’ve been a lot clearer in explaining the difference, as I’ve never seen theatre seats set up like that. It defeated the purpose of a date night, so we decided to leave and bought tickets for Tyson’s AMC up the street instead.
Between the lack of clear communication and the awkward seating situation, the experience just didn’t live up to the excitement we...
Read moreSunday I took my toddler on a mom-and-son movie date at Paragon Theater, and we had a great experience overall. The theater is conveniently located—parking is in a connected garage, and the elevator lets you off right at the entrance. Huge win when you’re juggling bags and a sleepy toddler!
We booked Lux Box Dine-In seats ($17.50 for adults, $15.50 for kids) and they’re worth every penny. Comfortable reclining chairs with dividers for privacy, QR code ordering right from your seat, and (bonus I didn’t know until now) heated seats! I brought my blanket this time and was fully in cozy mode. Highly recommend.
Food and drinks are ordered right from your seat using a QR code, which is super convenient—if your phone can scan it. The theater lighting during the movie isn’t bright enough for the QR to work, so if you plan on ordering anything else mid-movie, do it early. Also, once the food is delivered, it’s pretty dark in the room. I found myself using my light just to see what I was eating.
I do wish there were more vegan or allergy-friendly menu options. I ended up just getting my son fries ($5.50) because the kids’ pizza couldn’t be customized and there weren’t many toddler drink options (no apple juice—just grapefruit, cranberry, and orange). I ordered lemon pepper wings ($14) and the “Be Mine” mocktail ($8)—which was delicious, and apparently toddler-approved since my son helped himself to half of the mocktail!
One odd thing: There’s no option to request a to-go box from your seat or server. I had to walk my son’s leftover fries to the front desk and ask for one. Not a huge deal, but not super convenient either.
Pros: ✔️ Heated recliner seats with dividers ✔️ QR code ordering to your seat ✔️ Family-friendly and clean ✔️ Free 4-hour parking with validation ✔️ Solid mocktail options
Cons: ❌ Limited vegan/toddler-friendly options ❌ Dark theater = hard to see food or scan QR mid-movie ❌ No easy way to request a to-go box ❌ Watery ranch dressing
Overall, a cozy, enjoyable experience for families or solo movie nights. Just know the system so you can come prepared—blanket, early ordering, and maybe your own flashlight if you’re picky about your...
Read moreParagon in Falls Church consistently delivers a fantastic movie-going experience, easily making it one of the best theaters in the area. From the moment you step in, the commitment to comfort and quality is evident.
The seating is superb, with incredibly comfortable chairs that make even the longest blockbusters a pleasure. For an elevated experience, the Lux Boxes are absolutely awesome, offering a more private and luxurious viewing environment that's perfect for a special outing. Beyond comfort, the entire facility is very clean, a detail that always enhances the overall experience.
When it comes to the technical aspects, Paragon truly shines. The screens are quite awesome, providing crisp, clear visuals that fully immerse you in the film. Crucially, the volume was perfect. In an age where many theaters blast sound to uncomfortable levels, Paragon strikes that ideal balance, allowing you to truly enjoy the movie without wincing.
The staff deserves a special mention for being great and efficient. Whether you're ordering concessions or asking a question, they handle everything with professionalism and speed, contributing to a smooth visit.
And speaking of concessions, Paragon goes above and beyond typical movie fare. The hot wings were very good, and the burger was truly restaurant quality, far surpassing what you'd expect from a cinema. What's more, the prices were reasonable for everything you get, offering excellent value for the quality of food and overall experience.
The only minor quibble, and it truly is minor given the theater's many strengths, is that they don't clear the trays after you're done, even if you order new items. While a small inconvenience, it doesn't detract significantly from what is otherwise a phenomenal theater.
In conclusion, Paragon in Falls Church is a must-visit for any movie lover. With its great seats, awesome Lux Boxes, pristine cleanliness, excellent screens and perfectly balanced volume, combined with great staff and surprisingly high-quality, reasonably priced food, it truly offers a premium cinematic experience. Highly...
