My hard drive crashed on my laptop yesterday and I was about to cry. I'm in grad school and I have been working on a term paper that is due Tuesday for the past week. I was almost done when my computer just imploded. While I am in a technical field and possibly could have tried to fix it, I had a ton of work on my plate so I had no time to work on it. Add to that the fact that the last time I worked on a Windows machine was a decade ago. Needless to say I panicked and I immediately went down the list that Google brought up. I called a few other places yesterday but I really wasn't comfortable with their responses. I then called Nerds To Go and spoke to Susan. She made arrangements to fit my laptop into the que. I brought my laptop into the store. Paul took a look at my laptop and immediately started troubleshooting it. Within minutes he was able to diagnose the fault which being a technical person just made my day. I knew I was in good hands. Recovering data and replacing a hard drive is not a quick process so I knew it wouldn't be fixed in 5 minutes but it took Paul less time than I expected to recover the data and replace the hard drive on my laptop. When I came in to pick my laptop this afternoon, when they gave me the bill I got another happy surprise it was a couple of hundred dollars less than I expected it to cost. I can't say enough good things about Nerds To Go. I hope I don't ever have to go through this again but they have definitely earned my business going forward. Thank you so much for...
Read moreGreat work...and fast. I brought my "blue screen" office laptop to their office around mid-morning and by early afternoon, they had it fully restored AND updated. It used to take our office IT vendor several days to get around to a major repair and get it back to me, so I was expecting at least a day or two, but they called right away to let me know it was ready. They also did a great job transferring a ton of data from a broken flash drive onto a new one that they had on hand and rushed to get it back to me because they knew I needed it. They let me know when it was ready for pickup as well. On my old personal laptop -- they put in a new SSD, upgraded Windows, restored apps & data, etc. -- and everything works like a charm. Mark (the owner) listens, asks pertinent questions, and provides outstanding customer service, and his team is very good at what they do...super responsive, and informative beyond the scope of the project -- recommending options and things to be cautious about to protect your system and data, etc. I'll be BACK! (well, hopefully not, but if I need help again, I'll call on...
Read moreThe worst happened: lightning struck my home and took out my internet. It fried my router and most of the ethernet cables in my home. I am a retired computing professional who normally maintains our network. But this event was special: getting too old to attic crawl, busy with caregiver duties, and not sure why my house surge protector didn't protect me. Plus I needed test equipment I didn't have.
Spectrum replaced their equipment but the router and ethernet is my responsibility. I called around for help and got a couple of companies that didn't seem competent. One well-known company would not even let me talk to a technician!
Then I calle NerdsToGo and instantly knew I was home! Owner Don came out and assessed the situation, and soon had all my Ethernet cables replaced and performed a modification with my existing computer surge protector to include coax protection. He also made great suggestions for improved data flow, and so much more. His pricing was very reasonable and NerdsToGo is my hero and forever service...
