Apparently I’m not alone in my experience. I can only fathom giving this theater 2-Stars because of its iMax theater availability.
The parking lot is an absolute nightmare. Definitely doesn’t accommodate all guest comfortably during busy periods. Spaces are tight, cramped, and you’re literally begging for a door ding or scrape. You spend your walk to the door dodging others whipping around trying to find parking. Most people circle constantly on the prowl for their spot and just further add to the over bearing congestion. Parking lot etiquette from others is damn near nil. Maybe that should be expected in that area? I should have parked in some of the vacant lots over towards Kwik Trip. Honestly there’s no real way of knowing who the other lots belong to so if they’re not a literal “overflow parking” area you’re probably in some tow-away zone. If it is movie theater overflow parking it should probably “labeled”, or designated as such.
The theater itself screams outdated. Looks kind of dilapidated, dark, and dingy. I was utterly shocked to walk in and realize they didn’t have kiosk to check yourself in when you have already purchased your tickets ahead of time. With that being said don’t plan on any “convenience” purchasing your tickets ahead of time because regardless of doing so you will still wait in line to have your mobile ticket scanned. Looking around it was pretty easy to see overflowing trash and unkept floors. It did not help that it was hot and humid outside the night we attended and that seemed to follow us indoors. That hot muggy humid feeling indoors did absolutely nothing to assist with the multitude of smells coming from the lack of cleanliness, but some other guests as well. It was unnerving having to sit through a three hour show in which I had to fight off my own perspiration along with the stagnant odors of others.
In conclusion this theater is in dire need of improvement. It can’t hurt to have a clean up crew operating during peak periods to avoid the theater looking and smelling disgusting. I have been to other theaters that during peak periods they’ll have parking lot attendants to help guide individuals to areas where parking is available. At times the attendants would have areas completely blocked off that were full to avoid any further congestion, or danger to guests. These attendants also would then direct incoming traffic into DESIGNATED OVERFLOW PARKING, so that there was no question as to whether where you were parking was safe or not. I shouldn’t have to attend a movie and carry anti-perspirant at the same time either. There has to be a fix to that. Either through upgrading your HVAC, or sealing off areas where heats being allowed to flow in. Maybe install some fans to move air around. I have only attended this theater twice because of the iMax theater. Other than that I will typically attend my local theater, or the one in Sun Prairie, which are both nice, inviting, comfortable, and worth the outrageous prices you pay at...
Read moreWe usually go to Marcus, but had to go to AMC because they had the movie playing we wanted to see. When we first got there, we had to use the bathroom. The men’s bathroom had no soap to wash your hands. There was a staff member in there trying to fix one of the dispensers, but he must have given up because later the bottle of soap was on the counter, but it was not usable. I tried turning it upside down, but nothing. Maybe one of the staff should have gone to Target to pick some up rather than having nothing available. The bathroom did have paper towels, thank goodness, because I would not have used the hand dryers. They were dirty and dirty can be. When we next went to concessions. There were 3 people working and we were the only ones in line. We asked if they had any specials (like Marcus does on Tuesday) and the one girl said she didn’t know. We placed our order and the other girl only gave us 3 of 4 drinks. We told her that we ordered 2 combos and 2 extra drinks so we need the other drink. She just sat there staring at us. We said again that we needed the fourth drink and she started to enter one on her register like we were going to pay for another one. We said, no we still need the other cup that we paid for. After 3 times she got it and gave us the cup. Off to the butter stand. What a mess. There is popcorn all over the floor and the butter machine looks like it’s never been wiped off. The soda station was the same - popcorn everywhere and 2 of the machines were giving out sugary water. There were probably 7-10 employees there today and they were all standing around just starring. Someone should have picked up a broom to clean up the popcorn. I was about to ask for one to help them. The theaters themselves were fine. The sound was good. The seats were comfortable and the picture was nice. Hopefully management can do better. We will not be back for a while. Marcus will continue to get...
Read moreMore than half of the candy's were out. The pretzel bits were out, the giant pretzel was out, and no peanut m&ms. The place was the dirtiest I've ever seen since it opened. No arcade games anymore. It was less lit at the counter area, and it cost $55 for a day movie for me and my kid w 2 sodas, a Mac n chz bites and a (luke warm) nacho. The 2 people that sat by us brought in a grocery sized bag of take out food from a restaurant. The speakers were out on our corner of the movie theater. This place was w no management clearly and the kids were without customer skills. Terrible indeed! And when will they ever fix the parking lot's decay?
Had to add on from a year ago w some pics (which I should have taken more) I'm sorry I thought coming back was a good idea, but my youngest wanted to see a movie. The one of 2 soda machines was down, the pic shows all the greasy fingerprints on it. The whole wall around the soda area is thick w dust. The soda machine that was working hadn't been cleaned in some time. And the slush machine was out of 2 of the 3 flavors. We both got pretzel bites, which by the time we sat down, were as hard as croutons. To which I returned one to complain, and the manager remade both, saying they need to be sprayed 1st w alot of water. And we again had the same result and just couldn't eat them. My guess is they are freezer burned or old as I saw they are kept in a bag w no seal or cover.
The butter napkin area literally smelled like vomit. And was covered in stains and even the whole area around the napkin dispensers was covered in old spills. $35 for 2 LG sodas/ 2 pretzel bites.
The lights never got turned down during the movie either on the walls. Any review that states this place is clean has got to be an employee. I hope it closes, and feel bad when I drive by on the weekend knowing it's busy w tons of people experiencing the...
