Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Fitchburg

Since high school, Tropical Smoothie has been one of my absolute favorite places to grab a bite to eat. When I moved to the Madison area in 2020, I was SO upset to find that there were none in the area. In the last year or so, a few have popped up, and I'm thrilled about it! This is the location that I typically go to in the area simply because it's the most convenient for me, and it definitely ranks as one of my favorite Tropical Smoothies that I've been to! I typically order ahead, and they always have my order ready well before I get there. They always get their ratios right in their smoothies (which I can't say has always been my experience with other locations!) and they distribute ingredients inside of their flatbreads so that you get all of the flavors in every bite (again, not something I always get!). The staff is very friendly; a friend of mine stopped in to pick up some smoothies, tripped, and spilled the smoothies all over the floor. The staff was so understanding and comforted her so much, assuring her that it wasn't a big deal and that it happens all the time, and then proceeded to remake the smoothies! I don’t normally like to write poor reviews, but I didn’t have a great experience yesterday when I visited this location. I ordered one smoothie and there was only one person who ordered in front of me. After I ordered, the employee put the ingredients in the blender but did not continue finishing the drink because after every time a new person came in, she started on their’s instead and wasn’t finishing anyone’s. After 15 minutes, a new employee came in and gave me my smoothie. The person who was ahead of me still didn’t have any of their food. When I got to the car and tried it, it had still not been fully blended so it was really clumpy. I was pretty disappointed since it cost $8 and was bad enough I could not finish it. I've been to this location here twice and had problems each time. The first I ordered a peanut butter cup smoothie and it came out more liquid than smoothie. They fixed it but not before it would take another 25 minutes to bring their attention to the problem. The second time I came here, they actively ignored me after telling me my smoothie would be in the to-go area and it wasn't. When I was finally able to get their attention they said it would be right up. I waited by the register in plain view. My order sat on their work counter completed for several minutes while they worked on any other order. Despite me being right there and having already spoken to them twice about the issue.
