AMS Mobile Electronics and Home Theater — Local services in Fitchburg

Not knowing anything about audio and not enjoying the sound in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler I wen to AMS in Madison. I was greeted by Kevin and went through a range of ideas methodically. He took me out to an installation in progress on another Jeep Wrangler and talked about options for amplification and speakers. We talked about utilizing my existing radio and using an interface to connect the radio to the amplifier and different speakers. I asked about the specifically made sub-woofers for Jeep Wranglers and he said they a good and can order those. When I left and listened to my radio on the way home I made my mind up. I cannot have such a nice vehicle without great sound I just had to make the call back. I asked Kevin if he could also replace the overhead speaker in the rear and order sub-woofers for both sides. I asked if there was a way to fit into a price I could manage. He called back and said yes and I had him order the sub-woofer boxes. When I went to the first installation everything was completed and wires ran for the su-woofers. I would have to come back because of a back order of the sub-woofers and I was fine with that. What amazed me is the workmanship from the technician Zac. He had to remove my whole dash to install speaker boxes and interface. I couldn't tell anything had been done until the radio was turned on. What a sound and from there it would get better? After my second trip the sub-woofers were installed and all the way home I just smiled. It isn't about volume it's about quality of sound and even with my Jeep top off the quality is outstanding. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate Kevin and Zac for their professionalism and knowledge. If you have a Jeep Wrangler or any vehicle don't suffer through bad sound. "In 2010, when I got my 2001 BMW, it was vandalized it so I went to AMS for a security system. I spoke to Paul Nachreiner, now the President at AMS. He remembered me from 1991 when he installed a stereo in my 1981 Toyota Celica. When we were discussing the security system for my BMW, we talked about the system he installed in my Celica. He detailed the components like he installed them last week. A short time ago, my security system wasn't working right so I contacted Paul. He asked me to bring in my car and he would take a look at it. When I got there, one of his technicians, Jason Salas, noticed that the wire to the antenna at the top of the windshield was not hooked up to anything. I told him that I recently had my windshield replaced and that the two sided tape holding the thing up there came loose. Not knowing what that thing was, I disconnected it and put it in my car somewhere . Paul asked me where it was. I told him it fell off the windshield because it was not attached right and that it was in the car somewhere. After we found it, Jason put it back in place with some good two-sided tape and the alarm worked right again. I told Paul I was amazed at how quickly Jason diagnosed the problem. He told me "Jason was Installer of the Year in the entire country as recognized by the Mobile Electronics Retailers Association back in '06/'07." Needed to replace my center dash speaker on my 10 year old Lincoln (the part was no longer made by the manufacturer). Reached out to a couple of places via web contact forms, including AMS. Others were not too confident or told me to buy a used speaker from a salvage yard (why would I install a used speaker when mine had rotted out?).

On the other hand, Paul from AMS responded quickly and we had a back and forth about the best plan. In the end they installed the speaker at an agreed time and material rate. Paul kept me informed about the progress and what they needed to do as the install progressed. Speaker sounds great!

As a side note.... after the install I was having some weird things happen with my car. I reached out to Paul and he was helpful and concerned, stressing that if they did something he would make things right. In the end, it was a coincidence that my 9 year old battery was in need of replacement.
