I've been a member of this YMCA branch for many years. This clean and well maintained facility is centrally located to downtown Fitchburg and is very accessible. The professional staff members are courteous, trained in CPR /First Aid and in monitoring the facility for safety. It is an active branch that serves members young and older. The branch offers many organized activities such as aerobic, bicycling and swimming instruction. A "little bit of everything", other activities includes, swimming, free weights, pool, racket ball, treadmills, teen game room, baby sitting, day program and after school teen programs, basketball court, teen Summer day camp and separate women's and men's health club. In the exercise room, wide screen TV's and air conditioning accompanies the treadmills and many aerobic machines. The professional grade "state of the art" exercise equipment is well maintained and upgraded every few years. The mens health club offers air conditioning, lockers, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi and showers. Visitors are welcomed and there is plenty of parking. This is a "diamond in the rough" health club that should be worthy of serious consideration for single or family memberships when browsing for one. As mentioned in an earlier post, it all depends what your needs are in a club membership. I however have not found a club that offers as much as this facility does for the price. Most insurances benefits are recognized. Here's to...

As you walk through the halls you see empty rooms everywhere. This would be better suited to have a teenage gym rather than adults who get out of work. Have to watch them hang out sitting on all the equipment. There is an Aerobic room. I've seen one class ever and that used to be heavy bags there for people to work out. So that way they don't have to punch A heavy bag pushed away in the corner. And change the spa code. They don't know how to change it. it's been the same punch code for over five years. This will be my last month paying for the spa or pretty much going to the gym at all. It's not worth the treadmill and the machines and weights I use. And don't get me started on the very old Men that just sit in the locker...
