Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center — Attraction in Florence

Went here as a chaperone for my daughter's 2nd grade class. We went to watch a Harriett Tubman play! The play was awesome!! The theatre was beautiful & immaculate! We had an outdoor picnic lunch around a concrete area with steps all around it( no picnic tables where we sat on the concrete steps, but I'm not sure if there r tables somewhere or not). But sitting around the steps was great, it was a beautiful day! The restrooms had plenty of stalls for big crowds n were very very clean! I will definitely be going back to take the whole family many more times! I would also recommend this theater to any and everyone. The performers in the play that we watched were so awesome and were very talented actors! Attended last week for my son's music concert. His 2 song concert took place out in the main entrance area while another took place in the main hall also for his school just to mention. There were people still talking while his class performance was taking place. With that said I think it would be a good idea to add mobile barrier's for such type of events to cut down on noise, confusion for people on where the event will take place, and any other performances or other activities may need such dividers to help in future events being whatever they are. From the exterior of (new) tombstone granite, to a lobby of clean lines and smooth surfaces, this performing arts center is itself a work of art. Once in the main performing hall the cold design disappears and is replaced with the welcoming warmth of tans and browns with massive tasseles adorning the curtain. The overall design of this performing arts center only adds to the imagination of the audience, really setting the gears in motion for a classy experience.
