I've never had a pre-order here that was easy to pick up. The store is fine for its used games, but every pre-order I've picked up takes anywhere from at least three to five times longer than a normal purchase, sometimes more. Granted, I usually only pre-order the more eclectic titles where they might only get two or three copies, but still...it's frustrating when they have to scour half the store looking for it, or worse, find that the only copy of the game (which should have been held for me) has already been opened, gutted and put up for sale on the shelf.
They are also bad about giving out pre-order bonuses. The advent of DLC codes on cards and receipts has helped alleviate this, but things like books and t-shirts magically 'run out'.
To summarize: good for used games, terrible for new games...
Read moreI always enjoy going to gamestop, but the girl that helped me yesterday was awesome! I did not get her name, but I ended up chatting with her for a while; she was so friendly. At one point she got kind of busy & she handled it no problem. She knew so much about every game customers asked about, made recommendations, described the game play to potential buyers, the Works! She seemed to really like her job. I like seeing those type of emoyees at gamestop because alot of times when I've gone to that same store & others in the area I have felt very unwelcomed & not valued...
