I can remember as a kid going to this particular drive thru and my parents going through hell to get me food (giving us contaminated food and just putting the contaminated patty in another bun, and regularly cheating my parents). It has stayed the same from then, through my teens, and is still that way through to my adulthood. I regularly get messed up orders, had an employee two years ago basically tell me that me giving her a dollar more was an inconvenience to her giving me change, an issue where I was charged for the more expensive food I wanted and was given something totally different that cost less, and (despite the fact it takes me less than a few minutes to get there from my work place) I regularly spend most of my lunch break sitting in the drive through waiting for my food. The employees regularly treat me and others who order from here with contempt. If its a friend they talk to them at the window for what is an eternity in wait time for a FAST FOOD service. I have reached out to corporate before, and have seen little change implemented. There was a girl there for a while who acted professionally and who got the line moving, but once she left it was like nothing had happened.
Last week I ordered from this Checkers. What I got was cold service and a " stop bothering me look" from the woman working the window. As of late my department has been short on workers, resulting in me having to work strenuously harder and staying much later than Id like to (almost til 12am 3 times now.) I HAVE to use my time up wisely so as not to take too long and make my coworkers either go overtime or not be able to take their lunch at all prior to before they are scheduled to leave. Today I left on my lunch and, got into the line around 4:53 pm and was there until 5:10. By the time I got back to work to eat I had less than ten minutes to eat and relax, and when I took a sip of my drink it was sweet tea, not the coke I had ordered.
I dont say all this to portray Checkers as a bad company. Im sure somewhere there are Checkers that have excellent service records and are full of wonderful people. I dont even say this to paint the people who work at this store as horrifically incompetent at their job, Ive met a few who know what theyre doing and who treat me and others with kindness. But this one seems to be forever cursed to cause people to wait forever for their food, to cause the experience of going there to get that food to be a burden on those working there, to lose the few good employees who get stuff done, and to eternally make being there an overall bad experience.
In all honesty the fact that its near where I work, and the fries are good are the only reasons I go there. But if Im going to be constantly made to wait during most of my lunch for my food, Id rather drive somewhere where the employees know they work for a FAST FOOD company so that I can at least have the satisfaction of not having to sit in line for most of that time. At this point this place either needs to get its act together, or the owners need to call their loss and have it torn down. Will I keep going? I mean yeah, the food is descent and Ive almost never had an issue with the fries, but I dont know. Maybe its time I put my money where my mouth is and just stay...
Read moreFirstly... I chose this location due to the ice cream ALWAYS being unavailable at the location across town. NO LUCK-The ice cream was unavailable here as well. C'mon y'all, it's summertime and you have ice cream availability on the menu. I now have to classify that part of the opinion as no better than McDonald's. Now, for the real reason that I chose to take the time and give a review. Not only did my vehicle wait in line for at least 30min.minimum we didn't even have our order processed correctly. This could be blamed on the fact that the (ordering) intercom box can hardly be heard however the mistake was paid for so that excuse can't be given. Two fish sandwiches, without lettuce and ADD CHEESE was one order. I had to PAY a EXTRA .49 each for the cheese to be added however there was NO Cheese added to the poor looking sandwiches that were given to my order. There was barely any sauce on them and what little was there was on the outside of the buns. After waiting in the 100 degree heat to even get this order I was not going to return for another 30+ minutes to get the cheese that I PAID for put on them. Now, I do have to say, the cook was doing much better in this heat than I would have been doing at standing over those hot fryers and busting out the orders. I give him a 100% for effort and production, even if he did forget my cheese, however I am not sure that it was his responsibility, it could have been the young lady at the window who "quietly" took my order, and really made a person feel bad for even having the urge, let alone audacity to choose Checkers to buy a meal on a muggy, hot summer afternoon. Don't even want to mention the fact that there was no honey mustard to give after making her take a step back from the window to look. I do appreciate her desire to wipe her brow and take a look though! 👍 So, I guess I would actually like to tell the owners of this #CHECKERSRESTAURANT to please take the .98cents that you were paid for cheese that I didn't get and put it towards 1.)FIXING THE ICE CREAM MACHINE 2.)ADDING some sort of air conditioning unit to better suit the space for both your hardworking cook and coworkers (one can't expect Alot from a heat stroke victim) 3.) Read moreI wish I could give this place a negative review. Not much open at 11pm so my options were slim to begin with. On top of it all I have a mother who has stomach problems and can only eat certain things. I ended up here thinking we would be fine. I was clearly wrong. I pulled up and parked for a minute letting my mom look online at the menu that way I was ready when I got to the window. She didn't see what she normally gets online so I in 20 degree weather walked to the first sign thinking I was going to be able to show her the menu. They had it off. I got back in my car and she wanted to see the physical menu so I pulled up. As I'm sitting there with my phone half way out the car showing my mom the menu on facetime a “woman” sticks her head out the window and yells “PULL FORWARD!!!” to which I replied “Give me one second.” She then yells again hanging half way out the window “PULL FORWARD!!!!!!!” with more of an attitude. I once again said “one second” once I get up to the window I will no longer be able to see the menu. Once my mom figures out what she wants I then pull up. The “woman” opens the window and states “by the way we could hear everything you said and I HAVE to stick my head out the window our machine is broke!” I then said anyway to proceed with my order and she mocked me saying “yeah anyway ha” I work in customer service. I work in a restaurant. The difference between us could be she makes hourly and I make tips? I'm not sure but even off the clock I would never speak to customers the way she spoke to me tonight.
