Extremely disappointed after 11 years at Holy Family Catholic School. My granddaughter’s final year (8th grade) was marked by persistent bullying—carried out by the child of a school staff member—and nothing was done. She wasn’t the only one; another student in her class was also bullied. Sadly, bullying has been a recurring issue at this school. Neither the principal nor the priest took any meaningful action. Our letters to the administration and the Diocese of Orlando were ignored. Academically, the school falls short of private school standards. Students often spend more time on unrelated activities than on real learning. The school calls itself Catholic, but Christian values like compassion and charity are sorely lacking. While major funds were used to expand and redo the parking lot, children were left—on multiple occasions—without access to restrooms. This shows a serious failure in priorities. To make matters worse, the school doesn’t reliably send recommendation letters for students applying to other schools. My grandson’s letter was never sent, despite several requests. We later learned our case wasn’t the only one. After 25 years as a parishioner—where my grandchildren were baptized and received First Communion—I made the painful decision to leave the parish entirely. Since Google has disabled reviews for Holy Family Catholic School, I am posting this under Holy Family Catholic Church instead. Go figure. I cannot recommend this school to any family looking for a safe—in every aspect—respectful, and truly faith-based environment for...
Read moreBeautiful Chapel and nice Priests. My 1 star is for the main Chapel however as the Adoration Chapel and Small Chael would get 5 stars. However the addition of a full band including drum-kits, lead guitars, bass guitars etc etc into the choir in the main Chapel is an absolute disgrace. It's a sacrilege. I'm not attending a rock club or jazz club. I'm attending Holy Mass. It's just modernism gone so far left it's turning into evangelical protestantism. We are not the Elm Pentecostal Church!! So now I refuse to attend the main Chapel. There is however the new Mass said in a small side Chapel Mon to Fri with confessions said afterwards which is fine. I do attend when possible. To those incharge of the main Chapel, we are not at a 'happy feast' on Sunday with a full live band. We are at a Sacrifice during the Holy Mass. If it wasnt acceptable at Calvary, it's not acceptable now. There is also a beautiful Adoration Chapel open 24 hours. Furthermore, wouldn't it be great if the priest actually told the congregation to STOP doing the Orans position during the Our Father. It's just poor teaching letting it continue week...
Read moreA Truly Blessed Experience
My wife and I usually attend the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass, but last night we went to Father Juan’s Spanish Mass, and it was truly a blessing. I believe this was his third or fourth Mass in Spanish, and I sincerely hope the church continues offering it on a regular basis.
Spanish is my first language, and hearing Father Juan preach, sing, and worship so passionately in Spanish was incredibly moving. You could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in every word he spoke—it gave me goosebumps.
As we were leaving, there was a long line of people waiting to greet him. We tried to quietly walk around, but Father Juan reached out, and gave us a warm hug. That small act of kindness touched us deeply and made us feel truly seen and loved.
Father Juan is a gift to this parish. His faith, warmth, and joy radiate through everything he does. If you ever have the chance to attend one of his Spanish Masses, don’t miss it—it’s an experience that...
