I wanted to love this place but given the fact that I’ve never been to a dim sum before I am writing this without any bias. We waited for a bit because it was busy which is fine once we got sat we were given waters and chili sauce. Then a lady came with a cart asking if we wanted anything from it. Again we have never been so I was confused but we chose something from it. I believe it was a pork honey bun or bread. Then we just wanted to look at the menu and so I asked for the menu with the pictures. The girl gave it to us and came back with a cart again and asked what we wanted. I said we don’t want anything from the cart we are checking the menu first. She said “today we are doing the cart you order from the cart” again… we’ve never been. Then we were just like can we get fried rice and some noodles. Which are priced 9-11 on the menu so we just said let’s just get that because I’m confused at this point and not sure how it works here. We got it it was really big portions so I didn’t even finish it. Nothing special on the noodles which were chicken lo mein and we got a chicken fried rice. All the meat given had that red coloring that they normally use. We also got baos. I was already disappointed and confused so I didn’t order anything else. She then brings black buns that we didn’t order. She then kept insisting that we ordered them… I told her we didn’t order black buns. And she said yes we did. Again I’m already disappointed and confused so I just said “I guess” I tried they weren’t bad but I didn’t order it… also when the bill came we were charged 19 dollars for a chicken lo mein… which was not even on the menu NOR have I ever paid 19 dollars for a chicken lo mein…
I have an advice for management if you guys would take it into consideration that’s up to y’all.
I believe that a lot of people that are not familiar to the establishment or the type of food should be told how the service works or how the menu and items work. We are Spanish and wanted a new experience but I am afraid this was a disappointment. We weren’t told anything and weren’t given the chance to really look at menu or understand how dim sums work. No one ever asked. You guys should consider asking your guest when they’re first sat down if they’ve ever been to one before and...
Read moreMy partner, my son and I came here on Mother’s Day because my love wanted me to try Peking Duck for the very first time. We learned they offered Roasted Duck as an appetizer rather than an entree, so we ordered two to share between ourselves. I found the duck to be overly salty on some bites and disliked all the bone left in, which managed to invade most every bite. We ordered two of the Vegetable Dumplings, that ended up being very chewy on the bright green, bland exterior and seemingly filled with bland mushrooms inside — void of any pleasant flavor. We had ordered these shrimp rolls, which on the menu appeared to look like summer rolls, but what we got was bowl of mushy, slimy bowl of thick, oversaturated rice paper filled with shrimp, that did not even appear appealing enough for me to try. My love (who is open to many different foods) tried them, but could only eat one bite before rejecting the remaining dish. We had some fried shrimp balls, which we thought were decent. But overall, we did not enjoy the meal and were left wondering if we would have enjoyed maybe some different choices on the menu. We also thought it was odd that there were only two other tables at this restaurant during peak dinner time on Mother’s Day. The servers and staff were polite, so my love left a generous tip, but sadly we do not plan to revisit...
Read moreIt’s absurd to think that people actually left negative reviews…are you aware that you should probably go up to the register and order your food rather than just sit down? Sure maybe they could’ve acknowledged you better but you have a voice to ask for assistance no? This in no way shape or form is strictly a sit down joint, do you see a hostess? No you don’t, the fact that they even come to your table to take your order you should be happy. This place is the closest thing to authentic Chinese dim sum, their curry beef stew is fantastic and their egg tart is comparable to anything I’ve had in Chinatown/flushing/queens in Ny. They have always been nice and do their best any time I’ve stepped foot in there. They make a conscious effort to get to everyone. Also if you think that this somehow should be quick service then you’ve never been to a legit dim sum place, many of their dishes are made to order, you do understand made to order items take longer right? God forbid they pre make everything and lose quality and then you’ll all complain about quality. Picky is picky and the negative reviews clearly have no knowledge in dim sum or how a restaurant like this runs. I encourage those to give this place a try and you will be pleasantly pleased. Although I caution getting there just before lunch rush or...
