Holy, welcoming, and beautiful. With St Augustine being one of the oldest settlements in the US it’s also one of the first places Catholicism came to the new world. The grounds are beautiful and contemplative. The chapel is quite and simple in it beauty. The museum has great information that explains how Catholicism spread through Florida. They also had a very even-handed approach towards settlers from Europe coming to the new world. If you’re looking for an addition to the Castillo learning about St Augustine’s history this is it. If you’re a Catholic and looking for the Lord you’ll find that here as well.

There is too much history in this place! Independently of your religious beliefs, this is the perfect place to start learning about how St Augustine was founded and developed trough out the years. There is one of the biggest cross in South Florida (I would say) and the entire complex combines a big beautiful Catholic Church with smaller shrines that are also historic. This is one of the “mandatory stops” of the trolleys and the city. There are plenty of opportunities and places to take great pictures and the atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing. 100% recommended

This is a beautiful oasis of peace just out of downtown tourist St Augustine. Several buildings border a lake, with the sea only yards beyond. A huge cross marks the first Mass ever held on American soil. The tiny but perfect chapel of Our Lady of La Leche marks the first church. An old cemetery with grass and trees is adjacent. Also on the site is a modern church with a small but interesting museum which includes some very old items. There is also a pilgrimage centre and shop.

I've lived in St. Augustine off and on for 30 years and a friend was surprised to learn I had never been to the Mission before. I thought it was a location only for Catholics, but it turns out it's open to the public. I'm keenly interested in cemeteries, and there's a gorgeous historic cemetery located on the grounds. There's many benches dotted along the property with magnificent views if Hospital Creek. It's a lovely spot to wander. Free parking.

We spend Sept 7th 2019 here. Founders Day. The ceremony and Mass were excellent. The grounds, even though they were working in certain places were a wonderful to walk through. Everywhere we went was HCA. The staff were very friendly and assisted in answering any questions we had. I don't usually give out five stars but we enjoyed this place so much and we felt the peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ here, they most certainly earned it.

Mission Nombre de Dios Museum is the perfect complement to the Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche. The historians in the museum were very knowledgeable and took time to explain the history of the mission and the people who came and established it. It includes an original coffin, pictures, and artifacts related to the mission. Take the time to talk to these nice folks when you visit.
