*You do NOT need to enter the Fountain of Youth to go here. It is to the left of the Fountain of Youth entrance. They share the parking lot with the Fountain of Youth. Very pleasant and shady seating area. Pet friendly for your well behaved dog. Go to the counter to order, they'll give you a gadget that vibrates and blinks when your food is ready. We both ordered the 1/2 lb burgers. They were ok, not great. You could tell they were frozen and they were cooked well done, despite my request for medium. I will be back because people near us ordered bbq and it looked amazing! Go figure, order BBQ when you are at a BBQ restaurant. Lesson learned. We went on a Wednesday at noon. Not too crowded at all and we easily got a table. Peacocks roam the grounds here. Kinda cool :-)
Edit* We came back! Being low carb conscious, I ordered the Caeser salad, no croutons, add Pulled Pork. Adam ordered the Club Sandwich. The Caesar was very, very good! The pulled pork was tender and moist with a smokey flavor. Delish! They add pickled red onion to the salad, and it was a perfect accompaniment! Paired very well with the pork. I would def order this again! Bonus that it's Keto friendly. The Club sandwich was served on freshly baked bread, and looked amazing! Adam said it tasted amazing too! Overall, a lovely spot for a late lunch. It was 2pm on a Tuesday when we arrived, and there were plenty of empty tables to choose from. For me, the chairs were comfortable for my back. We rode our bikes here with our little dogs. Watching (and listening to) the peacocks that roam the area is always...
Read moreOn the trolley tour of St Augustine, we were debating about stopping for lunch because everyone in our party was getting hungry. This place is located next to the Fountain of Youth attraction & the trolley drops off in the shared parking lot. The aromas from this open air eatery pulled us off the trolley & onto its porch. The bbq was delicious. 3 of us were very pleased with the meat (We all had pulled pork.) although my husband's sandwich had a huge chunk of dry, blackened end meat that he could not chew. Pickles are fine, but pickle haters are disgusted when several of them are thrown in with a sandwich & the juice saturates the rest of the food in the meal. One person in our group tossed 1/3 of her roll & 1/4 of her fries because of this. Not cool. The Cole slaw is tasteless & the cabbage pieces are far too large. That could REALLY use some improvement. Then we come to the fried bacon mac & cheese balls!.... Delicious! Probably a heart attack waiting to happen, but a "must try" for those who don't act as if fried food & carbs are pure poison. So, so, so good! Sweet iced tea was delicious too (and I am a sweet iced tea expert)! So glad we stopped here. Rain didn't even bother us much because of the ample umbrellas covering each table. The enticing aromas drew us in. The food will...
Read moreWhen we arrived today the old lady at the register seemed like she hated her job by the way she acted( my wife's words) we are bbq people and have never been here and will probably never return unless our family wants to eat here. Also the pricing says if you get a salad you can add ANY protein to the salad for $4 which is false(lies) we were told only chicken and pork on salad when my wife wanted the brisket on the salad... Might wanna get that fixed if that's the case... the lady upfront was so rude that we joked about who was going to ask for the refill on our soda. The only thing that's going to keep this business alive is the fact that it's right next to Fountain of Youth. I had the brisket and the ribs - the egg rolls were better than the meals - which for $12 you might wanna add a little more brisket to that meal maybe visit SmokN D's and see what you get for $12 or 4Rivers - maybe take notes on customer service aswell and you want to get the owner on site more until you hire better people. To make sure your business is being...
