My daughter has long thick hair. She styles her hair very nicely with twist outs, rodding, and even flat iron when she chooses. Atleast once a year she pays to get something special for an occasion. Well this year she paid $165 for a "Curly girl Experience" rod set. A new stylist rodded her hair and she came straight home to preserve her hair since her occasion was the next day and she slept in a silk bonnet as she has always to preserve her hairstyle. In the morning, the rodded curls were now frizzy looking cheese curls. See image! She chatted with someone at the salon (I assume was the owner) on Instagram and she chatted back, "sometimes that's how it turns out", offering her no refund since this is their policy. Now, that is understandable if that's your policy, but she offered no service to rectify the situation as good customer service. This was $165!!. Not even offering to offer a solution is an unacceptable customer service policy. Please BEWARE of this salon's disrespect of their clients money and having no integrity for their customers. My daughter $165 was given away with no solution, just an "oh well". There are many options they could have offered her that could have shown they appreciate their customers. A different hairstyle, redo the same style with another product, etc. I called the salon myself and spoke to the same person she chatted with and asked what did they use on her hair to rod it and she said setting lotion. In my research it states for natural hair to prevent frizz and shrinkage, the product must be water based. Also my question is, when she does her hair at home she has never had that level of shrinkage. She flat irons it herself or gets it professionally done it last for days to a week before it starts shrinkage. Seems to me to specialize in natural hair you must also know chemistry of natural hair and understand natural hair products. I say STICK TO BRAIDS and TWIST! Please feel free to comment or suggest links on products or process this salon can benefit from for future clients. I say to this salon, if you had paid for a product or service in any way and this happen to you, it would not be acceptable! Treat your customers as you want to be treated because Customer Service...
Read moreDon’t believe what you see on their social media page. Their customer service is horrible.
Before I had booked. I asked anyone do hair highlights at that shop and someone from their phone number texted me “Yes”. So I thought all the beauticians in there do highlights.
I booked for highlights( I put in the description), trim, & rod set. Two weeks later. I got to the shop. The beautician Madison told me she doesn’t do any highlights. She had two weeks to tell me ahead of time.
Since there was an inconvenience from them. I was trying to get my deposit back. The owner Jessica was telling me she will not refund my deposit back but I will have to pay a fee. Also, she was being cocky about knowing “hair” she told me. “ I have to get to know my hair”. I know my hair history and needs. Of course, she doesn’t know. She never took care of my hair. I did. Little did she know I was recording Jessica’s conversation.
I could’ve just walked out of the shop & disputed with my bank after Jessica said that. It’s not like I’m stealing because they didn’t provide any service that time.
Instead of walking out. I used my right side of my brain. I chose to still get a trim. I needed a trim badly at that time. So I received their “Deluxe Trim” package. I wouldn’t call it “Deluxe”. Deluxe where? Lol. Don’t see anything special about the package. It’s the standard to get washed, condition, steam/deep con, and trim.Again NOTHING special.
After my appointment, I disputed my deposit and the service with my bank account. They reversed the money from them. I’m glad I have recordings of Jessica talking to me. I wouldn’t have gotten...
Read moreI found this jewel over a year ago on Google search and it didn't disappoint. In a year's time there has been some changes, additional staff and a new location. Sometimes with change comes a rough patch, this hasn't been the case with Electric Soul. It's true that any stylist can do hair but you get so more than that at EC. You leave not only more beautiful than when you walked in but you leave more refreshed mentally and spiritually. The staff gives familial vibes not just amongst themselves but with the clients too. The atmosphere is set from the moment you cross the threshold, the aesthethics are beautiful, the music speaks to your soul and laughs are bountiful. Whether they have been a stylist for a decade or newbies they know the business of healthy hair. I would suggest booking immediately after your appointment but if not just follow Electric Soul across all social media platforms because Ms Jessica always post when they have...
