I must see when passing through Foley, Alabama! It has one of the best representative collection of medical equipment of days past that I've ever seen. It is a lot larger then one would expect. Has interesting items at every turn with good visibility and explanation. The docent was extremely knowledgeable about the museum and the area. Adding to this he was very friendly and enjoyed a good conversation!

In Foley, Alabama...building used to be a hospital decades ago [NFL great Kenny Stabler was born there]. Lots of old equipment and records..operating rooms, offices and waiting rooms re-created. Was tickled to see an old time medicine bottle from Monticello, Illinois [not far from our home in Normal] in one of the display cases. Fascinating visit. No charge, but donations encouraged.

Steph was knowledgeable an extremely kind and fun to hear all the history of this Hospital and how it came about. very cool to just walk through the different rooms and down the halls and just imagine what it used to be. It's free to get in but we did leave a significant amount for a donation a must-see on your list if you're traveling.

Such a great historical museum! Baldwin county and medical history are knit together here. The attendant was welcoming and chatty. Such a great historical resource! The museum benefits from donations but has no admittance fee. Parking is nearby but you also can grab a coffee or bite nearby then walk over after you finish. The setup does its best holding true to the original building design. Some of the items are difficult to view bc of the logistics of the setup with rooms full of information. Some information is on the cabinets face up and difficult to see from that angle and several feet away. Regardless this is...

It's rare to get so up close and personal with history. The museum allows you the chance to really experience the space rather than tour it. The items on exhibit are specifically from the facility itself and not a random collection which made it much more interesting. It's unlike similar historical sites I've visited and I'd love to go back. Definitely fun for anyone with the slightest interest in history or medicine! Awesome teaching tool as well, and very...
